Unleash looks a little hard-core for me. But I've ordered a starter kit of PerplexCity, so I'll see how the ARG-thang goes!
Somewhat ironically, Unleash doesn't scare me, but I consider PXC a little too hardcore for me . But I am not much of a puzzler.
There are quite a few other ARGs, of varying scope, that are about to start or in the process of starting, that you may also want to check out:
Studio Cyphers -- Due to start up soon, by a PM team that's already put out a well-liked ARG, both free and pay-to-play content. Transcript of pregame chat with the PMs found here .
Chasing the Wish 2 -- Sequel to a popular ARG; I don't think (CTW experts correct me if I'm wrong here ) you need to know much about the first one to play the second.
edoc laundry -- Incorporates a line of clothing, but you don't need to buy the clothes to play.
Project Gateway 2 -- It's a sequel, but that's all I know.
The above are all sort of "known quantities," but there are also new things cropping up daily in News and Rumors, such as the upcoming Lost ARG . So you may want to keep an eye out there, as well.
Hope you find one to your liking, and have a great first ARG experience!

looking at the source of http://un.lea.sh/ shows the login form action="who.are.you" so I doubt there is any value that could be entered in the login that would get you anything but the "Who are you . . . " page.
Probably some other way in for the "awakened".

I think all the information that new comers will need to know will be given (either in the comic or the on line version, if no where else) If not there are aenough of us from the game in 2003 around and waiting anxiously that if you have any questions someone can give you an answer... Oh and don't forget, since we have the archives formt he first game you can always try to search for any history tidbits.
*Edit* to actually make this relavent to the "Unleashed" topic...
I got this reply to my question about them growing their player base...

Magestaff,
Thanks for your interest in Unleash.
I've had a little flurry of emails resulting from the unfiction
board. Funny how the internet works.
Its difficult to explain, without blowing its secrets, of
course. Its true it is becoming gradually more 'massive'.
And that isn't a fast process. But it shouldn't be. There are
interesting features of the game that positively require
that.
But being brought into the game isn't about being invited to
play, its more than that, it has repurcussions throughout
the game. So I can't just circulate potential players to current
players.
I'm sure the time will come when somebody you know is aware
enough to try and wake you.
Thanks though, its flattering that the game is so intriguing.
Ian.
If any of you awakened types are out there, we are waiting for you...

Unfortunatey, it seems that PG2 has been put on indefinate hold until the Chronosis Labs team can get more sponsorship (according to their latest newsletter).

If someone who is already playing has to "awaken" you to get in...then how did the first person get in
If they don't get someone from this sight awakened, they are surely missing out.

I [spec] they started out with the people lsited on the website, who then awaken others on a continuing basis, and when each of those people become high enough in power/the organization they can awaken others aw well. Sort of like I tell 2 people who each tell 2 people and so forth. Soon you have a small army awakening people. Geopmetric progression from the first group.

Judging by the typos in this post, I think we should let Magesteff sleep awhile, anyway

I'm very new to all of this, but very intrigued, if a tad naive. So I would appreciate a helping hand. I have also E-mailed re:Unleashed and await a reply. If I hear of anything I shall let you know, although I appreciate I may be being slightly optimistic.

Something I just noticed ....
The cryptic email replies from Unleash are signed "Ian" and of course, refer to being "awakened".
Over at StudioCypher, where we are waiting to become "Wakeful Agents", the team is Will, Nathan and ..... Ian.
Probably just coincidence.

Sleep is good. I suppose I could cut down on mistakes by sp34k1ng in shorthand, but u no, that just l34ds to more confusion.
