Good news! Not only did Andrew give permission for us to use the "dreaminig in green" tune, but he also ran some filters over it to make it sound better and dumped it in a higher-quality MP3 file than I did. I've uploaded it to http://argvideo.theblob.org/ .

This sounds like an interesting project Smile If it helps, there is some video available from the Perplex City Academy Games live event that was this past Saturday that you could use snippets of - I took some of the Choir Practice event that I can send over, and I know sledgecallier is in the process of editing together a video of the whole event. Also, if you asked MindCandy, they might let you use some of their footage? They had a few camera crews going about.. worth asking anyway Smile

Video footage from the London event would be awesome. I was actually thinking of posting a thread in the PC forums about it but I didn't know whether it would seem too much like advertising, or too off-topic. What does everybody else think?

Good idea about asking Mind Candy, though. I'll see if I can't draft an email and see what they reckon. Very Happy

Oooh, excellent! I have some more songs lined up, but maybe if need be we could ask him for the use of a few more songs (I really like "Wishing Never" by "The Alpha Conspiracy"!), but i'd still like to get some Will Star.
As well, after watching a documentary or two, the music changes alot, depending on what the person is talking about, or what is being shown, to make different moods. I have different musics lined up for different moods (translation: i listen to cds and go: that'd make a good ____). If anyone can find any other music they think'd go well, feel free to say so!
As well, these documentaries had a bunch of other techniques i picked up, including, but not limited to, muting music while someone says something important, having the person's voice continue whilst showing the person doing other things, and using some hardcore narration to explain things (I've been thinking of the whole narration thing: getting someone to read stuff like "Dave Szulsborski is one of the most renowned PMs of ARGs. He has created quite the number of very successful ARGs, like Chasing the Wish, CAOOC, etc. and he has recently written two books, with a third upcoming, about ARGs", over which we'd show clips of Dave Szulsborski, followed by shots of Chasing the wish, and Change Agents: Out Of Control, and his book. Then we'd go into an interview type part with him)

Oooh, if you can get that up ASAP that'd be great! and if anyone wants to send an email to Mind Candy (i will, if no one else wants to)? ANy other video clips would be great to! I don't care what ARG they are from! Even if someone brings a video camera along to find a book at a library in WIBS! (hey, theres an idea!)

Okey doke.

Partial bump/new info

I can now accept almost ANY Windows compatible movie format...i don't know the apple/linux ones, so i don't know what will / wont work.

This includes, .AVI .MOV .WMV and...uhh...lots more

So:

Please upload ANY ARG movie clips to Ciaran's FTP server!
So i can get a-editing.

And i was wondering...perhaps we should just ask Andrew if we can use some of his other music, such as some of The Alpha Conspiracy.

I'll start a mock-up with Alpha Conspiracy music, to see how it sounds. (unfortunatley, this'll have to bee next week...i'm a little busy)

But keep sending in those videos!

Hehe. I was going to post to this thread tonight, actually, apologising for the delay in doing stuff. A lot of stuff has happened recently. I haven't even done that email to Mind Candy. I'll be doing that, though.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll get an email knocked up in the next day or two, probably.

I keep forgetting. I made a another pretty-kick ass opener, oh, a month ago? But it's just been sitting on my computer. One of you needs to kick my a__ when I'm in chat back at my own compy and tell me to upload it.

I have another suggestion. I've been a pretty big fan of another guy in the scene lately, by the name of Paniq. He recently came out with an album that's FREE to download, and you can even download it in several lossless codecs (FLAC being one of them). It's called Neurons: Fire at Will, and the title track I think would be PERFECT for what we're doing here.

Alright, CE out.

Oo... I really like the music so far. I like the Jimmy Stewart line (from "Harvey" isn't it?)

Ok I'm in on this.....I'll see if I can do up some bits and peices. I even can grab some of the footage and raw resources we used for OC if ya want. See what I can pop out for you.
