The Director or Assistant Director of MI3 is one of the creators of Lost.

It was on the advert before the Hanso one on UK TV (Or, more exactly they were the same advert space, but made to look like different ones).

The guy introduces himself as Director (or whatever) of MI3, and says he is also one of the creators of Lost. Then you get clips of MI3, and the usual end to a film preview. Then the Hanso advert starts.

So.. the bit in the credits of MI3 is just one of the coolest shout-outs ever.

Mwahahaha.

[INFO] Joop Loop Documents

Just to let you know:

The documents in the Joop Loop are not new. They appeared on the original Hanso Foundation website before it went down.

[TRIVIA] Useless Button

If you like watching the lights move around, there's a hidden button on the lower left of the screen which seems to do nothing but move the lights. The more you know.

J.J. Abrams, who happens to be the creator of LOST Smile has also directed MI III - so he could basically put in there whatever he wants.

I remembered having read something like this and googled a bit: http://www.tomcruisefan.com/?p=1069. And no, I'm not a regular visitor to that site Wink...

So basically i think that's the LOST reference they've been talking about.

@Jegger: are you sure? i think the "secret" documents from the original hanso foundation website were some FAA stuff but i could be wrong?

Go to the archive kindly preserved by BigSpaceship:

http://www.bigspaceship.com/archive/hanso/activeproject.html

If you click on Alvar Hanso's picture, you get one doc, and if you go to the LEP page and click on the last line of the Press Release, you go to a login. The password is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Copenhagen
This then takes you to the second doc.

I can't seem to figure out how to download the images, so I can't post them. If anyone can figure out how to nab the images, please let me know.

I got some screen grabs of the letters. Sounds like someone was paid off to ignore something:

Oops, looking back at the docs, I notice that the docs give similar info, only The old docs are addressed to the Hanso Foundation, and the new docs are addressed to the CDC concerning the Hanso Foundation.

I deserve a gentle trouting Smile

Do aspects of this remind anyone else of Sable & Shuck?

The password protection system in S&S was called Cerberus (CERB815 in this Lost ARG), and Cerberus was a dog guarding the gates of Hell, or some such thing.

The general feel of it is similar to S&S as well. Lol, just imagine if this whole thing was a sequel!

Anyway, that's me on board for this one, thanks to everyone who has already figured out the early clues to speed me on my way.

The easiest way is simply to take a screenshot once they're displayed. I checked the code for the url of the images but i think it's hidden in some weird javascript code (gonna check that out later just out of curiosity). That or i'm just blind Smile...

Anyway - the letters:

(by the way the second letter seems to have some part in common with the Joop letters but the first one is definitely different)

(Edit: okay, of course everyone was faster than me Smile i'm gonna leave this post and just remove the images)

[META] Old site docs

One thing to remember is that the old docs probably aren't in game. There are different names for the executives, for one. Basically, I don't think we should take it as canon, just as the original docs that the PM's adapted to fit the new game.

In the (Active Projects) 'World Wellness and Prevention Development Program', within the Press Release, the word 'miracle' appears to be clickable... only nothing seems to happen (at least for me anyway).

[INFO] Clickable on MFI page

It looks like "About the MFI" is clickable. The pipe next to it makes me think that there's supposed to be another sub-page for that project. Perhaps it will be added later...

[SPEC]

The "developing African nation" which is whited out in the "Mathematical Forecasting Initiative"...

The first letter is almost definitely a "Z", which wuld make it either Zambia or Zimbabwe. It looks like the word is too short to be "Zimbabwe", but "Zambia" would fit, if the letter tops we can see are the dot of an "i" and the top of a "b".

My speculation is that they either whited out "Zambia" to avoid getting grief from the Zambians, or they have just invented a generic developing African nation name.

[/SPEC]

First post here so hello all. Got curious about the ads during the screening of Lost so thought I'd follow the trail.

Please call trout if necessary, but once you have been through the loop at Joops Corner, the text next to his picture appears to have some 'washed out' text over it. I can't make it out but perhaps this is the word that needs to be entered in the text box next to Joop's hand (top left)?
