The members only board seems to be down at the moment. I had never looked at the url before, but there's an 8 in there now. Could be a clue.

Doesn't seem so. /7 and /6 goes to other forums.

Hmm... Looks like we may be collecting more datapoints.
Somebody got a list of what's been tried?

Taking a stab with 3/6. We'll see if it pans.
I'll see if I can't get a track on this thread tomorrow.

Looks like Gandalf112's doing alot better than we slackers...
Short form?
Poison = 8
Parasites =7
Here are the results the processor gave me for batch 4.
Text for Batch 4
No, they did not bury me, though there is a period of time which I remember mistily, with a shuddering wonder, like a passage through some inconceivable world that had no hope in it and no desire. I found myself back in the sepulchral city resenting the sight of people hurrying through the streets to filch a little money from each other, to devour their infamous cookery, to gulp their unwholesome beer, to dream their insignificant and silly dreams. They trespassed upon my thoughts.

Batch 5
The others might have been asleep, but I was awake. I listened, I listened on the watch for the sentence, for the word, that would give me the clue to the faint uneasiness inspired by this narrative that seemed to shape itself without human lips in the heavy night-air of the river.

Well Gandalf's score confirms we need to get it right 3 days in a row, pity he/she doesn't seem to post anywhere to illuminate us...

Why do you think that, Svengoolie? We got correct answers for both questions; I was afraid we wouldn't even get one. And for the first time, we've seen a 2/3.

We've maybe got the process right, Gandalf has explained their thinking in the forums - long story short poisons are adjectives that could influence our thoughts, and possibly parasites are work pairs...
we'll see tommorrow if that's right...

[x-post from SC forum]
I have noticed that there's sort of a ghostly spin to most of the texts. They pretty much all refer to death, and there are phrases like "grisly phantom," "impalpable grayness," "sepulchral city," and a "narrative that seemed to shape itself without human lips."
How do I convert this observation into two numbers? Well, I can't, not yet. I'm also not sure what connection it might have to the paper under the processor. Anything ethereal is pretty much non-absolute.
Oh, and on a tangent, I keep thinking that "A is A" might not be so much a philosophical statement as a cryptographic one. Again, I'm not sure what to do with it if it is.

for the batch processor---
one option would be for us to each pick a number between 1 and 20 and put it twice each day. then we could observe the patterns over a few days and figure it out in hindsight?
