Season 2 Spoilers in the Forum

Okey guys, i think this is getting a little silly with the regional threads and stuff, hence why i'm putting forward a new way to mark spoilers.

The issue we've got is that everyone is at diffrent stages of S2, USA are up to 20, UK up to 2 or 3 (depending if they watch First Look E4), Wales are a day behind the rest of the UK due to S4C showing on a Wednesday, Australia a few days behind the UK... it just seems silly to have numerous threads for each region.

So maybe we can mark spoilers such as

Spoiler: 02x10
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

omgz, 'asplode

Or somthing to that nature, so you know what ep it relates to. Any suggestions to stop this madness?

I agree. Now that it's clear we're all working on the same information, the only difference is TV clue airtimes and spoilers. All these regional threads and seperations will do is get in the way of collective information.

Totally agree with Nick there. The regional thing seems a bit pointless, also I've noticed a lot of spoilers with no description before hand. What is the point of having a spoiler without a prior description of what may be within it. A blank post with just a spoiler box in isn't that helpful.

It seems a bit pointless to have all these seperate international threads, because it may well end out we have to work together internationally for solves.

It may turn out to be completely pointless to have multiple international threads like this, but hey these are still the heady days of first discovery where anything and everything seems possible! Anyhow, if they're unneeded, they'll eventually fall to the bottom of the pile and be forgotten. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Wink

It's best to just put all references to the TV show in spoiler tags. That ensures there's no spoilers, and you don't acidently spoil something in Season 2 by highlighting someting from Season 1 that was 'insignificant' until Season 2.

aaah phew I'm glad to read this topic - have just joined up to the forum and have been slightly apprehensive so far in joining the game as I've worried US people will give stuff away. I'm happy you're all aware of us down here in aus Smile

No real need to watch the TV series?

I've got to say, the way things are shaping up here, I think you don't *need* to know what happens in the show in series 2 in order to solve puzzles (although obviously, it enhances the enjoyment).

From what has happened so far, none of the ARG characters (save Alvar Hanso) have been mentioned in the show. It looks like this ARG will be like The Beast, with a tangental ARG universe related to but not dependent on the show universe.

At least, that's what I'm hoping the PMs will do - they must realise that having ARG plot points directly related to happenings in the show will only spoil it for non-US viewers who haven't reached that point yet.

So I would say that we shouldn't need spoilers for the show, because I don't think they're going to have much bearing on what is happening in the ARG..

Re: Season 2 Spoilers in the Forum

Hi Nik_Doof, i'm going to use your example and expound upon it.

Spoiler for episode 02x10 (episode 10, Season 2)--
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
omgz, 'asplode

That would be really sweet if every could go to that much trouble. I'd be happy with just approximate descriptions -- "(season 1)", "(early season 2)", "(late season 2)", "(future episode leak)" -- as that seems to be our demographic around here.

No, the game shouldn't directly tie into our characters on the island, but I know people want to make the connections. I feel that we'll be introduced to new characters and stories just for this game, but they may have an eerie similarity to characters we've seen on the show (or may meet in Season 3).

Thank you for helping us all choose how to enjoy these multiple forms of entertainment, each in our own way, side by side.
