ok that means one good thing, im not to sure when, i thin it will be in 2 weeks, that we will get the answer to the maze, a definite answer, which might help us figure it out.

So no luck with CGW, huh? Have any of you Londoners seen an "answer" to the maze yet? Man, I can't believe we've been hanging on this for so long! I thought for sure it would have progressed by now... Unless it was all a joke/trick or something.

I get the sinking feeling that we were supposed to have solved this in order to get access to Cognivia's testing site, then use that access to figure out Miranda was HG. I mean, [OOG]doesn't it feel like Kurt just sort of handed us all this info on a silver platter without our having to lift a collective finger? I'd hate to think that we've failed to live up to MC's expectations.

Two things:

1. London != All of England.

2. Can't see how a maze-type puzzle was supposed to lead us to a login? The rest of the advert was scruitinised to the point of death. I'm fairly certain it was intended as a 'rabbit hole' to pull new players down and nothing else.

I must admit I'm inclined to agree with you, CoolCats. It feels like we're suddenly being beaten over the head with this Miranda info, when things are usually a bit more subtle and require lots of head-scratching and brain-ache.

It was intended as a "Rabbit hole" , but on the web page you put the solve on it asked for e mail and your address which is a bit odd if it was it lead anywhere, even if i was only to send the first 100 right solves a pack of cards. A "Rabbit hole" should lead some where.

A "rabbit-hole" in ARG terms is anything which draws a player into the game. So it did "lead somewhere", anyone who was unaware of Perplex City before reading the article, and going to find Cognivia's website, would have fallen "down the rabbithole" a la Alice.

Yes your right there , but if you a told that you was going to get something in this case a IQ pack , then no one gets one wouldn't that hack off some of the new people who went down the rabbit-hole?

On an other note if it was only done to cerate a way for new people to enter the game , why was we told about the ad before it was printed? mmmmmm Question

To answer both points raised:-

We were entering a competition. Thus far, no announcement has been made about the correct answer, or any "winners". So why anyone would be "hacked off", I don't quite follow - unless they changed the rules on competitions, in which case, I might just go and buy a lottery ticket.

Secondly, if I recall correctly, we weren't "told" about the advert. It was found because someone spotted the new answer page on the Cognivia site, and then we spent several days trying work out just what the CGW part of it was referring to, until some devilishly enterprising and dashing chap found the online version was available to download, before it hit newsagent's shelves.

Uh?

I have no idea what perplexcity is... two weeks ago I received this CGW magazine on the mail and saw that CNV ad. I looked at it and gave up on it after a few minutes, I'm not a fan of puzzles. Yet the lightbulb idea does seem likely, but another thing I would like to point out, (I'm probably wrong...but w/e) the clouds on the bottom of the ad are clearly upside down. Look at the dark gray side, the side that is blocking sunlight and hence appears darker, this side is facing up. Turn the ad upside down and the clouds will make sense, the light part up. Dunno if this helps any of you, now the lightbulb kinda looks like a flame... I dunno. Confused

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So why did you feel the need to put "ahintiscloseby" in bold other than to mimic the article.

Maybe to provide a little mental stimulation...after all, I think most of us here enjoy puzzles.... Rolling Eyes

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

I know, but I just thought using the same thing was a bit strange, thats the only reason I questioned it.

Imitation is the most blatant form of plagiarism.
