Just an update, I'm working with Sk1zz on getting the processor specific optimizations in, but there is a version of the general use client (1_1_0) in beta now which bring the processing time down by a factor of 4 -5 - I have it doing work units in 2 mins now Smile.

This should be available early next week.

Will 1_1_0 include proxy support yet as it is annoying that I cannot contribute atm from my uni computer. On the other hand if its gonna take > a month to do the proxy version it won't affect me, LOL, I'm home then and away from the proxy for good Smile.

Hmmm, cmd prompt won't get rid of the active program minimized bar, but running the client through the "scheduled tasks" utility might work. It will probably be a major pain to set it up.

One way to get round it would be to write an AutoIT script to hide the window - get AutoIT from here . If you need any help with it I can have a look this evening.

Not quite getting rid of the item but if you can accept putting it in the task bar (in the bottom right) with just a tiny item try:

http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm

It doesn't install anything and all you do it ctrl-click the minimise button and it puts it in the command bar, now I have a low priority shortcut which I can minimise to tray auto-running so I never have to worry about it (btw if you want a low priority shortcut for the program create a shortcut and then change the target to:

Quote:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "13th Labour" /low "C:\13labour\Labour13.exe"

Thanks, I was looking at a way I could run it in the bg at low priority but still be able to close it when I'm finished and came across this, and the way to shortcut low priority Smile

Hope it helps people.

EDIT: I'd just like to say thanks to all of these things I have now added got 6 times as many WUs done as combined from before. This is because I've been able to leave it running and forget about it Smile (oh, and the upcoming client, 3 mins a WU Very Happy).

Any chance you can upload some of the completed data so that we can browse even if its old and allready checked?

might be wise to double check in case its in welsh or something silly and whatever program your using to check it has passed it up.

In actuall fact some info on how your checking the data would be great after all we all seem to be waiting for the right combination now.

Go on give us something to read Smile

Bloody Western Power.

We were down for 3 hours (just before now) as their monkey on a treadmill ran out of bananas.

Back up now though.

NEW CLIENT AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD - worth the shouting :)

Dear all a new client version is available. A patch and full version are on the site as usual. This update includes a proxy server details of how to configure can be found in the readme.txt.

The major detail in this update is that it is much faster and can process units at 2 or 3 times the speed of previous incarnations. Please update your current installation as soon as possible as you really will see a dramatic difference in the number of units you can process - all of which will mean more chance of finishing this a lot sooner.

the website download page is here

Keep up the good work and spread the word Smile
