[PPM] Organized Search Effort (1st run 267+8 over; new soon)

At the half-hour, I want to get as many people as I can to help me wed through all the pages of competitors for the 268 Marathon, which Miranda would certainly have participated in if she ran for two years in a row.

We'll divide pages evenly among every we can.

If you can help flip through the roster, say so; that way I can sitribute page blocks evenly when Zero Hour rolls around.

Of course; if we get enough people, the page loads will be small enough that the participants can look for either name, do it quickly, and not have to worry about workload overlap, with 5 people looking at the same (wrong) page.

Listing all the info for future reference or just name checking?

If the former then important info will be:

Name
Finishing Time
Height
Age
Year
Charity supporting
Any special drug allowances

We look for the names, and post whatever stats we find if they turn up.
If she used a third name, then we have no clue what to do as of yet.

So, does this make three people?
PLEASE say whether or not you're in.

Well, rather than have 150 pages per person, I'm holding off another half-hour for a solid registration process.

What we're gonna do is divide the 600 pags of runners equally among the searchers, and run through, looking for either of the names. We are only doing the 268 marathon, as looking over might prove unneccessary, where the second might not actually have her name(s) in it.

So, we have:

268
Izzy 1-50
Barry 51-100
Echidna 101-150
Gaspar 151-200
Ted 201-250

Barry Again 251-300
Perplexed 301-350
JCane 351-400
Ryan 401-450
Riff 451-500
Ted Again 501-500
Zeph 551-600

267
Sherpa 1-50
Barry 51-100
Echidna 101-150
Gaspar 151-200
Ted 201-250

Perplexed 251-300
Mima 301-350
UK 351-400

Ryan 401-450
Riff 451-500
Eeeqz 501-500
Zeph 551-600

267 PARTICIPANTS, GO TIME!
How to go where you need to be:
* subtract 1 from your first page number
* muttiply that by 25
* put at end of: http://www.polygonparkmarathon.com/resultpages.php?race=&year=267&start=

For me: (151-1) x 25 = 3750; ...start=3750

GET TO IT!

12 people; 50 pgs./person
You can take multiple shifts if we need people; just say you want to.

Results are coming in, and updates will follow continuously as new information develops.

Got you guys; I'll be updating the roster as people join up.
You can see how many pages you'll have to do if we max out.

Assuming we check both marathons (or do we know it was the real one?) then we have 24,000 people to look through, totalling 960 pages of 25 people per page.

Just giving a sense of scale to the problem so you know roughly what to dish-out to people Smile
