seems to just be a mirror of the old thehansofoundation.org with some old clues posted on it
i doubt the PMs would decypher the message incorrectly and then decypher another message correcting themselves

This was posted yesterday...
Do you have some reason to believe it's an in-game site? I can't see any myself...

have you thought about that perhaps it means to use the information from the telephone option 8 and not 1 or 6? Perhaps we get a new password there
I d call myself and see if option 8 does anything, but i dont want to make a long-distance call just on a hunch =)
I tried just for the hell of it, and if you hit 8, nothing happens. *sad face*

The reason i thought it was official was that it has/had the ABC terms of use disclaimer, however now with whats pointed out above, it does seem as its a mirror, and most likely the ramblings of someone as clued up as us
sorry guys,

It is not an official site. It was used during the fan-based Lost Webmaze last fall. I will add it to the list of out-of-game sites now. As an aside, I wouldn't expect the PMs to post clues except within the context of the Hanso website itself. Persephone might help us, but an external site wouldn't.

SIGN IN WITH HANSO PR CLUE. (8, not 1 and 6) So, assuming the second message from Persephone is "SIGN IN WITH HANSO PR CLUE. (8, not 1 and 6)", I've been going through the current press release hoping to find... something? I thought perhaps Persephone had added something to one of the "comments" fields. (I hope this isn't considered brute force?)
Unfortunately, I didn't find anything of real interest. Opening the PDF in Acrobat and checking the properties yielded some data in the "description" section:
Title: Microsoft Word - HANSO FOUNDATION web.doc
Author: Hugh McIntyre
Subject: Website problems
Neat, but not helpful. Also, the "advanced" section does list http://persephone.thehansofoundation.org as the "Base URL". But there are no comments or keywords added. So if we're looking for a clue from Hanso's public relations (or press releases) seems like we already found the big clue in this one...
Also, just as a side note on the phone line, I did try all the numbers in the voicemail and nothing gave a response except the listed options. # does sound a low tone.
(Edited to add: I also compared the Alvar Hanso quote on the first press release announcing the website revision and the second press release announcing the website disruptions to see if there was perhaps a difference - no dice.)

new clues in old pr? I've been doing the same thing, so far with no results; given the number of times we've seen quotes from Hanso like 'we need to look beyond what is accepted as the truth' I wonder if the clue isn't in something we're overlooking in what we've already seen.
I tried Hugh's phone number, not calling, but looking to see if there could be two ways to interpret it. My best thought was that there might be some kind of word in it to use as a login in if I looked a the 'words' on the telephone key pad (2 = abc, etc) but I think there are too many 1s and 0s. I couldn't find much.

Admittedly I'm a complete newbie but there is something that is really sticking out at me. With the new numbers anagrammed to mention a PR Clue, what comes to mind is the last line of the press release. The phone number/email address on the bottom of the letter looks incredibly suspicious! The link includes the 7 digits of the phone number (leaves out the area code) and a slash, followed by the email address. Plus when I click on the email ink directly it sent the email to "McIntyre@thehansofoundation.org" instead of "Hugh.McIntyre@thehansofoundation.org". I looked and could not find this discussed anywhere. Perhaps I'm just rambling but it seems odd to me!

I tried playing around with antonyms instead of anagrams when I thought that LOST was the opposite of WIN (even though it's the opposite of WON)
Anyway, it's pretty weak, but maybe someone else can run with it:
HAS WIN HOST PC IN NIL URGE (8, not 1 and 6).
Hasn't lose guest ~frank~ out some demand (8, is 1 or 6).

That's a really good idea, but there is more than one PR. Anybody tried miracle?
Or the part of the original PR that had nothing to do with the 1 and 6 controvercy "This is safe for now"
http://tinyurl.com/qvekv for the anagrams including the word hanso. I'm particularly intrigued by
HANSO FIFTIES ROWS
-ack, unfortunately work calls. Later all, and good luck

Hi all, first post, so be gentle.
When I first read the message, I just took it at face value. There are three words specificially that relate to each other, so I took it to be significant.
Win Host PC
Could the numbers be referring to the ip address of thehansofoundation.org? Maybe we might find something by replacing some of the numbers.
