Re: Blanked out world

I think the blanked out spots in Alvar's Bio are a clue to the map page,

earlier i said the that when the line on the map jumps off screen, it would land somewhere close to St Petersburg, Russia.....

The blanked out spots spell:

Alvar.....World.....St....

maybe be a coincidence....or maybe not....

Its not St.Petersburg thats too far north, the outbound curve from the mystery location is too far south to match. I would put money on it being most definatley Moscow or (at a long shot) Minsk.

Edit: Here is the map I did, When I overlayed the secondary map I checked the scale and proportions so that the overlay is pretty much a perfect match... the curve however could be questioned...

edit: removed embedded image cuz it made the screen scroll - rowan

I used some GIS software, and projected the map, as close as i could to the image... It appears its using a world projection, like View from Space... in other words, as a globe, similar to google earth, zoomed out.

So overlaying the image, and bearing in mind the angles of the lines/curves (assuming that the London line going west is to the USA, lower curves go further), it could be seen that the other routes from Copenhagen are, firstly, somewhere in Russia, but the other one is long distance, India, Asia, Pacific. (my scribbly lines go over the edge!)

As to where it ends, I can't tell ( but perhaps someone who knows parabolas can have a go)

Im gonna be no use at all if theres great relevence in the grainy picture of Hanso. Everytime I look at it I cant help but think it looks like Leslie Neilson (Lt Frank Dreben from Police Squad and the Naked Gun movies)

Another fish I'm sure, but I am still working on the scambled font that surrounds the Missing Organs clue. As I said in my previous, I think there is more here.
Anyway I was looking at what the characters are called.
On the first line.
The first three (in Arial Unicode) are £§L. That is Pound, Sector, Bottom left corner. Well there is a control (click) in the bottom left corner, but it just moves the lights around.
The next 2 characters are Paragraph, Sharp s. I can not figure out what the following 2 are. Then we have 741 (in super script), Less than or equal to, Greater than or equal to, Yen, Mu, Partial Differential, Summation, Product, Pi, Intregal.

Was the bottom left already found? I am wondering if it is new as of May 8 th

I already looked into this. If you treat the gibberish as Mac OS Roman, then about the first half of the characters are sequential. This makes me think that it's just filler and not a code.

is your hand resting on the tab key when these yellow squares appear?

this is how flash highlights active areas.

This is my first ARG. Is it common to use "filler" in an ARG?

Well, from what we know, they were leaving Australia, headed East to LA (on the Show). Alvar's arc takes him in that direction (past Asia), so he could have been, feasibly, headed to the island.

Seeing as I have nothing amazing to add, I'll just point at that Alvar's name is actually two different shades of pink...

...Really, I had nothing to add.

I think I missed something; did anyone find out what the text box in Mittelwork's bio was for?
There seems to be like, a lot of text boxes that have no meaning at the moment x_x

[UPDATE] - Text box on Thomas Werner Mittlewerks page!

Hi has this been posted anywhere?

When I look at the exec bios page, I see a text box smack bang in the middle of Thomas Werner Mittlewerk's page. Let's get cracking!

(EDIT: ha! cross post!)

The text box appears to be doing something when you type and press enter in it; but Im not 100% sure its actually sending any information. I can't do all the codey decompile stuff that you guys do, does anyone know if its actually working?

I think that it's just a mistake in the code...it seems to be the same login box from the bottom of the page that we can't seem to make do anything...yet

It isn't a mistake. I found the code. The clock on the Hanso site changed into words at some point and it linked to this site:

http://www.sublymonal.com/

Honestly, I can't figure out why the clock changes or what part I was on. I'm trying to retrace my steps because I don't think it was just a quirk of time of day or something. Regardless, if you follow the link, get the code, you can enter it into the box and something happens.
