[INFO] Official Lost Podcast - May 8th

I know the podcast isn't in game, but there were a couple of interesting points mentioned in this weeks that might be useful in-game. The second one is spoilered because it gives away some plot as well.

1) There was yet another plug for Bad Twin Wink

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

2) Between 23.10 and 24.15 on the podcast, they answer a reader question about the Widmore labororatories shown in the pregnancy test. They answer there will be 'more widmore' not 'less widmore' and that they believe there are two branches of the Widmore family, a UK branch and a US branch.

I know it's not useful now, but I thought it might be worth mentioning Smile

Just an opinion post, but their discussion of Ana Lucia (which I won't get into specifically because of spoilery deals) was probably the most serious and also the most candid thing they've ever put on their podcasts. Usually they're sitting around joking and not actually saying anything important. So bravo to them for that Smile

Thinking maybe it was a clue, I check out http://www.widmore.co.uk, it is valid, but was registered back in 1998 and not by ABC Sad

Ok. This is a big spoiler. It involves Widmore, it has to do with "more widmore" that they discussed, and, well, let's just say it's a HUGE island spoiler for the show and pretty much covers what was said in that podcast. So, be warned.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The hostage "Henry Gale" is Alexander Widmore. Alexander Widmore is Libby's brother.

About the validity of the spoiler
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This poster over at rottentomatoes.com posted it. I'm not entirely sure where he got it, but every spoiler he's ever posted about Lost has been right, Michael shooting Ana Lucia, the season finale being about Desmond before spoilerfix posted it, Shannon dying among others.

More on why I believe it which refers to spoilerfix.com about the upcoming episodes
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This is about Desmond. Stop reading if you don't want to know. The Widmores are in the finale, Libby's with one of the brothers. The boat Desmond crashed on the island he buys from Libby.

So, I don't want to believe it, but I do. And, hey, I said it was a HUGE SPOILER, I gave ample warning that it not only involved Widmore but more, and that it was, well, HUGE. When I mean HUGE, I mean HUGE.

edit - spoilered puma88's quoted message from above. and he's not kidding when he says HUGE, you've been warned - bags

Book spoiler for Bad Twin:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Arthur Widmore mentions the "Old Laws" in Chapter 23 of Bad Twin, in a discussion with his son Cliff about corporate authority. Cliff replies that those laws may have worked in "feudal Scotland," and presumably starts to say that they wouldn't work now... at which point Arthur tells him "damn right they worked." Misroi posted the relevant excerpt here.

There's obviously a UK branch of the family based on this quote. Just for reference, the feudal period in Scotland began in the 12th century and pretty much petered out after the battle of Culloden in 1745, although feudal land rights were not abolished by law until 2004.

Also, Chapter 5 mentions the Hanso Foundation and the Widmores have a longstanding business alliance.
