 		BTW Bungie posted a Large WMP version on their web site. Yesterday's version was cropped and had a file size of 55 MB. Today's version is uncropped and is 97 MB. Link to uncropped version

A few observations about the trailer to generate some more speculation.... I'll put in spoiler tags in case anyone hasn't seen it yet.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):


First, The circular structures seen in the distance at the beginning of the trailer; They seem familiar. Same thing for the sign blowing in the wind. Zanzibar??

Second, MC is holding a MA5B Assault Rifle. The same one from Halo 1.
Why bring back a weapon that you [Bungie] retired in Halo 2? (not that I'm criticizing, just wondering why)

Third, The Covenant disregard the MC and go straight for the Ark. Are these the Covenant minus the Elites/Hunters, or is it the Elite/Hunter faction (Who migtht be fighting alongside the MC)?

Fourth, the Ark firing. Is this a result of the misfiring of Halo Delta at the end of Halo 2 which activated the ark, or another event which we don't yet know about?

From what I have read, that is not in fact the same assualt rifle, but rather it is smaller and slimmer.

I think you're actually on to something there Thunderclap. How can you gage the size of the rifle against the size of the Chief when the MC has on different armor than in Halo 1? There's no standard to measure against.

Has anyone else mentioned this? Do we know anyone that can provide the audio that was played after the Halo 3 trailer?

the ark part... The ark is what controls the Halo's, it can shut them all down when on alert mode. It can also start them all up when on alert mode, the reason it was made. The covenant had 343 too, they know why the ark exists. So the ark firing would be the beggining of the Great Journey, they Covenant's entire religions basis. So that wasn't as strong an explosion as a Halo, but just enough to get to the closest one and set it off, starting the chain reaction. The problem is the closest Halo is instillation 4, and last time I checked, the Pillar of Autumn had a little huge explosion on it and destroyed it... So how much will the ark be able to do anymore even if it just destroyed earth?

So you're saying that the dialogue from the Halo 3 trailer is actually an excerpt from the Cortana Letters????????!!! OMG!!! This is giving me chills!!

Also, this new poetic style from Cortana seems similar to Gravemind... is Cortana now influenced by Gravemind?

EDIT: This seems to be the going agreement on Cortana's words from the trailer:

There are certain points during Cortana's Monologue that you can subtly, but clearly hear Gravemind Speaking in chorus with here. "...Gods and Demons..." "...Sword, I am you shield..."
Being the best points to hear it if you can't elsewhere.

It is entirly possible That she was Rampant before Gravemind Had a little Q&A, Remember she was supposed to blow AmberClad's Engines and take out Delta Halo? I seem to remember her being fully coherent yet not detonating the AmberClad. Moreso, She offered herself to Gravemind.

 		Has anyone got a clip of the sound that was played out of the speakers after the trailer stopped?

I heard that it sounded like muffled voices in a train station.
