[mittelwerk connection contd.] Remember the "Magnus" reference?

Well, Werner von Braun, the lead scientist behind the V2 rockets, had a brother - named Magnus. Maybe Alvar or Dr Mittelwerk is actually supposed to be that guy. Checks out fine with the whole weapons business during WW2 doesn't it?

And speaking of von Braun, can you think of anyone else around here who uses the name Werner?

Interesting indeed. The photo only says 'Thomas', but the text in the bio adds 'Werner'.

This can not possibly be random.

ADDENDUM:

Apparently, his full name is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werner_Von_Braun so I guess their parents had a thing going for 'Magnus'

So, going from Werner (von Braun or Mittelwerk) to him being brought to work on the US rocket and nuclear bomb programs (eventually leading to the space program and NASA (note Space Shuttle launch image in the Hanso TV ad)) we move forward to various US nuclear test, in particular Operation Argus - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Argus - which tells an interesting story involving the geomagnetic equator and the 'South-atlantic anomaly' - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Atlantic_Anomaly - and a special taskforce, TF-88, all records of which were mysteriously dispersed after the taskforce was dissolved after their mission was completed - compare to the Hanso Foundation Electromagnetic Research Initiative and the secret "hospital" in the WWPDP page.

I noticed an interesting choice of words in the quote under Mittlewerk's bio. (Sincere apologies if this has been mentioned, I did a forum search on the word with no results!) The quote reads:

Quote:
It is the responsibility of a trusted few to shepherd humanity to a greater future.

Emphasis mine.

Given that everything on this site seems to have some sort of intention behind it, I think that's a very curious word selection. Especially since it's Jack's (and hence his father's) last name....
A reviewer in the Amazon reviews of Bad Twin (something we should check periodically, anyone can leave a review afterall) notes that "The protagonist is a likeable man whose surname, Artisan, comes from the Basque word for 'shepherd,'"

Mhm. I'm sensing a theme. No obvious connection at all in the places that word is showing up. Fun.

You know, last night I noticed the word on the site but I'm not sure if it was in this bio..but it was spelled wrong, it was spelled sheperd! Did anyone else notice this? Was it just a typo that they have since fixed? (starts poking around the site to see if she can find it anywhere)

It's intermittent. And the "lost" numbers are always in the loading icon, even when the site is working.

Re: Dr. Thomas Werner Mittelwerk

Yes, I know about the clock changing, new password, etc. for Mittelwerk's exec bio page. This isn't about that. :D

However, has anyone else noticed that on his bio page, he is referred to with 3 different names?

Dr. Thomas Mittelwerk
Dr. Thomas Werner Mittelwerk
Dr. Werner Mittelwerk

He signature says Thomas Mittelwerk (no Dr.).

Significant?

Not to mention that the Hanso hotline refers to his middle name as Skinner, not Werner, which of course brings us around to B. F. Skinner.

Okay - since this thread has gotten to be 30 pages and the last few have been on things that I'm pretty could go in more recent threads, I'm going to lock this so that you all go and play elsewhere.
