Blood Orange Delivery Truck

What was a delivery truck going from Cali to Utah doing on a pretty much deserted road that more or less goes nowhere? No driver would divert off of their course like that, there is no money in wasting time, gas and miles. The only thing he could do in Push would be make a circle. Why is it that there is a description of blood oranges and their origin? First, who doesn't know, or couldn't guess, what a blood orange is or looks like? Second, why is their origin important to the story? I can only think that maybe it leads somewhere, or maybe it is a hint? Just a mild mind spew! Let me know if this makes any sense please, or at least tell me I am daft. Confused

Did anyone see the poll? It has all three clues - sort of.

What was the Oddest Cargo to Spill in Push?

- $10.450
- handheld televisions
- blood oranges

I agree with most of your points and that the article is a hint, pointing us to "orange" as the clue, but I don't agree with your assumption that Push, Nevada is off the beaten path. The Toyota map shows it is right next to a major highway, and it is feasible that a truck going from California to Utah might go near Push.

There's obviously some trucking to be done out there, or Highwater Trucking would go out of business.

unless of course it was receiving hefty payments from the casino for certain deliveries. it seems that watermark is keeping that town in business for some reason. now, the question is...why does watermark consolidated care about push? is the casino a money laundering scheme? is there something in the desert there? are they experimenting on people? how does GO Mining fit into the picture?

I am getting what I say by looking at the map, that is why I am asking for opinions on this.

The road that the truck was on was not the highway, and it dead ends in both directions, unless it somehow connects to the highway, which isn't shown on the map or isn't known yet. I don't know of any driver that would go that far out of their way, so my spec is that he may have been making a delivery in Push, but where? Does anyone know what direction is shown by the picture in the Times?
And that does not look like a large quantity of fruit to me. Usually when a delivery is being made, there are many, many crates.

What do you think? Am I overthinking this?

In episode 3, Jim spots DBD making a delivery to the Versailles Casino. No, I don't know what the shipment was, but that is what the truck was doing in Push. Plus DBD obviously lives there because in episode 1 he tells Jim that he and his girlfriend/wife make love every other night (I assume between delivery runs).

Concerning the truck deliveries to the casino: There was a pad on the dash of the truck showing a list of deliveries to the casino. Did the pad have dates? That could tell us how far away the driver is going. If it takes one day to get wherever and one day to get back, it would fit in to the lovemaking schedule the driver stated in the first episode. and we would have an idea how far he was going.

Yes, the pad had dates, but I'll have to go back and look at the tape. I seem to recall that the first date was 9-12 and the second was a week later. I'll double check.

DBD's Deliveries

I rewatched episode 3; pause at the appropriate places, and retrieved this information from DBD's log book:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4738 Sunrise Ave., Suite 232, Push, Nevada

    DESTINATION SHIPMENT
    7-12 VERSAILLES 1.25
    7-19 VERSAILLES 3.40
    7-26 VERSAILLES 1.80
    8-2 VERSAILLES 2.55
    8-9 VERSAILLES 2.80
    8-16 VERSAILLES 3.98
    8-23 VERSAILLES 1.50
    8-30 VERSAILLES 1.10
    9-6 VERSAILLES 3.60
    9-13 VERSAILLES 2.40
    9-20 VERSAILLES 1.90

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They were all delivered to the Versailles Casino.
I couldn't read the heading of the first column, so I don't know if it is the date Versailles received the shipment or if it was the date it left the sender.

Hope this is helpful!

ok, so there's a delivery (or pickup) every friday with the second friday of the month being marked in red. so, that means that we should watch for a 'special' delivery on the 10th/11th or for mention of it the 17th.

now, if you go with traditional ledgers, red is a loss...

Thanks for the info. I think those dates are deliveries; because the next one is due on the 27th and isn't that the date tha Jim was watching them? If the numbers are millions it would mean the casino is giving away $100 million a year! This is not really a high number when you consider the avg resident of push is making 20 to 25 k more per year than the average average nev citizen and there are 10k residents of push. No wonder they thought the 1 million was not important!
The number could be less if the the red number are losses (gains?). Maybe that is when they haul out the real money they have brought in (if this is a money laundering scheme)
This seems too elaborate to be a money laundering scheme; but what activity would be worth $100 million a year to cover up?

Just another neat thing on the poll. It's fixed. Notice also that the blood oranges also always come up 62%

thanks for the invoice to bud. I just hadn't gotten to doing that part yet. Thank ye kindly.

SPEC: GO Mining

It doesn't. GO Mining doesn't fit the pattern. The whois is not Watermark, nor even LivePlanet. It also has never been mentioned on air or in game.

GO Mining was found by way of the Alias game (v.2) and IMHO is a bit of viral marketing directed at getting the Alias audience to tune into Push.

How do you find the whois? I've seen this referred to several times but I'm not clear how to find it myself.

You can look up a website whois several places online. I put www.everywhois.net on the pd.com quicklinks but there are lots of other places online.
