[puzzle-solved] Poem from Book One = Page from Diskman

It looks familiar (like it was seen & solved in the original CTW) but I couldn't find it in the archives.

Well, I was wrokign on this one at work. I figured the numbers in the triangles could be letters forming a message, but it spelled out to gibberish. I figured THAT could be ROTed or some other cipher.. but thats the point where I got caught by my boss and got yelled at so I didnt get far in the ROTing.

How about the numbers in the triangles reflect a letter in the poem??

Let's see.....3 = O, 8 = M, 2 = R, 10 = T.
OM RT..... garbage.

It would be 8=T, wouldn't it?

It's suspicious that all numbers from 1 to 23 occur in jumbled order. Maybe you have to take letters in those number's intervals and after you have done that you put those letters in order from 1 to 23?

North to south to west to east...

Top to bottom to left to right?

Kicking this around with Konamouse in chat:

Couple of things we can try.

22 letters, and on the side of the page are two rows of 11 boxes, so maybe if we pull the letters from the poem then do a substitution where
x=y, y=x, rather than a rot(ational) transformation. The next problem become how to order the letters.

We can either start at the top and go left to right then top to bottom ( =), but the first line of the poem makes me think that we start top to bottom then top left to right ( || ). We are going to try both ways.

Good luck detectives.

Edited to add the strings - lets hope we don't need to count spaces as well

_ denotes a blank space in the string, // denotes end of the line in the left to right...

Left to right then top to bottom (as if reading a normal english text):

_OT_RTHWOF//_rn_ed_tmo//nr_to_tthw_

Top to bottom, then left to right (row breaks every 3 spaces/letters)

_ _sorutnt_ _ ore_ rsth _ twthomtfo _

From Chasing The Wish

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This is page 24 of Dale's notebook from the first CTW. Fold it so the star at the top left meets the moon at the top right (like a Mad Magazine fold-in).

Yeah, we all reminded ourselves in chat tonight.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Folding the page revealed 9 triangles. Those numbers referred back to other pages in the notebook of the disk man's journey. The poem turned into instructions on where the disk was buried.

The pages in the notebook that were identified by the numbered triangles all had some symbols in a box. When matching symbols were put together, they created numbers. I think they were figured out to be latitude and longitude (but I'm not totally sure). Anyway, the location turned out to be in Missouri and the buried disk was discovered!
