On a serious note, I agree with BOS and Synch on this. While being rather new to the world of ARG's, and WIBS being my first, I have to say that the difference between the two are day and night. Granted this is (almost definitely) a grassroots effort - to continually berate, insult, and talk down to your players is NOT the way to gather a following. Also, promising updates, more information, etc. and not providing anythng is another great way to alienate people.

That being said, I will say that regardless of the experience of this 'game', I have met some really cool people that I hope to see around when something worth our time comes along![/quote]

 		Seems the provdier has issued an almost apology on his forum.
Glad to see we've still got a game and the pace is going to pick up.

Seems that we were right in assuming the puzzle couldn't just be a simple hex translation too.

 		Yeeeeaaaaah. Pardon me while I wipe the tears from my eyes. As far as I'm concerned it's a little late for apologies. If that was going to happen it should have happened right after the "imposter" Provider showed up & things started to go downhill. Add to that the fact that TheProvider came in a few days later and was condescending to the players (again) and was taking his/her anger at the parody site out on them and it's just too little too late. And then there's all the inconsistencies to deal with. For more about that go see my post in the BeholdRevelation.....Game Off? forum.

 		Well, there hasn't been anyone in #theroom any time I've checked... I feel bad about missing the message from Saturday, but there was never a deadline given publically to inform the others. I just submitted a guess, that collectively we decided on.

I'm thinking it's over...

 		took a couple of days to smell the roses and get some air. gonna head back in, have browsed for an update of somekind from the provider about our failure, but can't spot anything.

The email was sent on Saturday at 4:17. We sent our FIRST response May 4th, about 15 mins. after TP left #theroom for the last time. I wasn't able to be on my computer, so figured that any additional guesses/answers would be submitted by the group. I was away from the computer a lot of this weekend due to last minute family obligations.

TP never gave us a time cut off publically, we were just told "Saturday"... Then it ends up being 3:23am - but which time zone. Too late, yes - but it's pretty irresponsible to leave a message for the entire "Fold" in one persons hands only a few hours before a 'deadline', but that's IMHO... Plus there have been NO updates to the site, and to my knowledge, no appearances in #theroom either.

Frankly, I'm getting bored and don't think I'll be participating anymore, much most of the others.

 		Ok, the deadline appears to have come and gone. AFAIK there has been no solution to the puzzle. We haven't heard or seen TheProvider online for days. I'm ready to call this thing dead & gone. Anyone else in agreement? Apart from WisdomWarrior, of course, who is still convinced that the game is going "fine".

Ok, since it appears that, for all intents and purposes, BeholdRevelation is dead (feel free to show up and prove me wrong any time, Provider) I figure I'll step out from behind the curtain, as it were, and fess up. I am the one responsible for writing the Behold Retribution site.

After all the mistakes, lies and denial I got fed up and decided to vent my frustration. Was it the "right" thing to do? I guess that's up to you. It seems like the majority of the people who went to the site seemed to think it was somewhat humorous. Of course there were also a couple of people who thought it was just plain wrong. As I said earlier, I guess it's all in the "eye of the beholder".

When the site first went up there was some finger-pointing directed at a certain someone who had made their feelings on the game very clear here at UF. I guess I just wanted to basically clear the air & set the record straight.

So, if you want to flame me for what I did, that's your prerogative. But if you're looking for an argument or a fight you'll be disappointed because I'm not going get into a flame war with anyone. I've made my feelings/thoughts clear about how things were handled in BeholdRevelation in a couple of other threads. I've said my peace and just wanted to fill in one last blank.

[edit] I forgot to thank someone (you know who you are) for helping me with the website editing, making sure everything looked correct & ensuring that the Retribution site was as close in appearance the the real BR site as possible. Thank you for your hard work & due diligence. It wouldn't have been possible without you.
