I didn't know where else to put this, so this thread seems as good as any. The "News" sections of the main Hanso page has been updated with a link to the same newspaper ad that we saw earlier this week, along with this message:

"Fri 12/05/06
Don't believe "Bad Twin"

New book "Bad Twin" by Gary
Troup features wild
misinformation about the
Hanso Foundation. We
encourage all readers to
remember the altruistic work
that we are doing, and make up
their own mind. Full press
release here"

Check out the URL for that pdf file.. why /paris/?

Sorry, I had assumed that's what the prior poster was referring to when they said "pdf file".

I can see where you might be unsure of where this should be discussed. While it does reference Gary Troup, it's not really part of the "Book Talk" trail we were following here. This was an update to the main Hanso website, and as such has been put into a new [UPDATE] thread. Further discussion about hidden directories on THF.org should be taken there.

Thank you.

(And where is clip 4 of 9?? I want to hear why we cannot find a copy of his other book!)

Hyperion blurb

At the bottom of Hyperion's blurb for Bad Twin is the line.

Quote:
Bad Twin is a work of fiction and all names, characters and incidents are used fictitiously; the author himself is a fictional character.

I almost fell in the floor laughing.

I skimmed through the book at Walmart and the book mentions Mittelwerk as being "two-faced" and having his own hidden agenda.

This may be nothing, but the Excerpt of the book on Troupes website seems completely bizarre to me in terms of his use of vocabulary, grammar and syntax. The flow just seems totally off to me. I haven't looked at the rest of the book, so maybe ole Gary is just a crummy writer, but I wondered if there could be some clue embedded in this excerpt. Probably nothing, but just thought I'd mention it.

[May 16] The Amazon page for Bad Twin now contains a link to clip 4 of 9 of "Book Talk"

content spoiler:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In it, Troup mentions that Hanso possesses the only copy of the Valenzetti equation remaining, but that he won't let outsiders see it.

Good find. This adds a lot more to the Valenzetti mystery.

When did Troup meet with Hanso, I wonder? After the last known public appearance, or?

Spec: Or was it Mittelwerk or one of the other Foundation flacks telling him "Beloved Founder doesn't let people examine his collections?"

Clip number six was found on Gary Troup's own website. Check it out here: http://www.garytroup.net/wm/btvideo.wmv
