You got in just before me. When i figured it out however i used now instead of own. Own makes more sense but put in the context of that sentence it could possibly be either of them.

So what can me make out from Terri's blog?

"Anyway, he was trying to tease me, telling me that there was some sort of secret thing on his website. "Oh, oh! It's hidden really well! I bet you'll never find it! But hey, check it out. I'll give you a hint!"

And then he said to me, and I hope I'm getting this right:

"The start plus end of this verse is one
Until your death and then there's none." "

OK, I"m getting nowhere on the clue John gave Sue, so I thought it might help to post some of the things I've tried that don't seem to be solutions. At the very least it should reduce duplication of effort.

I'm thinking that "this verse" is the couplet itself. If so, then "start" could be the first letter, "T" and "end" could be "e". "plus" might mean addition. Adding the positions of T and E in the alphabet gives Y. Which might mean "why". A question? This would seem to fit with the second line, if you think that there are no questions after death (you certainly don't ask as many!). But trying things like www.a-m-w-b.com/questions.html doesn't seem to work.

If "plus" means concatenation, then we get "Te" which is the abreviation for Tellurium, one of the elements. But it doesn't seem to work as well with the second line, and things like www.a-m-w-b.com/elements.html also don't work.

Maybe the "start" and "end" are the first and last words of the verse, in which case we get "The none". That's actually a time of day in the Liturgy of the Day, or the Hours. It's about 3pm. This seems to fit well with the second line too, if we say that you have no time after death, but again, things like www.a-m-w-b.com/time.html and www.a-m-w-b.com/hours.html don't seem to work.

I also thought maybe "this verse" might be something else, like the universe or something. The word uniVERSity seemed promising; because the start plus end of that could be "unity" which is 1! But this doesn't seem to have anything to do with the second line, and really just shows how badly I'm stumped!

Anyway, I hope one of these bad ideas will trigger a better one in someone else!

Don't see much in there that helps, but it confirms the real John is innocent I guess.

The only other thing I've noticed is the archives, which are only set up for March and May, but both links are inactive.
