I seem to remember someone peeling off the whole card on Riemann, I'm not sure about it though.

Okay, forgive me if this has been mentioned before, because this forum is 30 pages long and I'm too tired to read through it all, but what if the partial letters showing up on a lot of the cards ends up being the passcode to decrypt the thirteenth labour? We wouldn't be about to decrypt it until after season 1 is complete!!!

That's unfortunatly impossible Josh. The key has to be 8 characters long, and last time I checked the partials add up to way more than that.

Tried a different tactic (i think)...

...and it didn't work.
When I first looked at this card online (I'm not a realworld player, but linked through jayisgames and it intigued me) the first thing I thought was, "heck, that looks like the left pane of the old hex editors I used to use...". I know the values are hex, as does everyone else here, but after searching the forum for the term "exe" I thought I'd have a shot at pasting the hex data into an editor, saving it as an exe and running it.

No go though, just got a runtime error. WinXp did have the nouse to run it as a 16 bit executable though, so I wonder if some of the information is valid for a certain operating system/runtime.

I know it defies the rc5 spec at the top, AND the five cow heads at the bottom, but it was worth a shot. Wink

Welcome to the community crazyboydave!

I think your idea might be a dead end although, it's a different approach that seems possible.

Mind Candy have said in a round about way that we're on the right track with a distributed computing program-all said it could be a red herring (quite unlikely though)

Glad to see a new player! Nice one dave!

not sure if this is any use, or just a cunning coincidence http://www.molecularexpressions.com/creatures/pages/fivecows.html

i just had an idea, been reading about the Cult Of the Dead Cow, who were named after a debugging technique where you set a memory range to the Hex charachters "DE AD BE EF"

reckon thats a hint?

anyone else think the little cows look like A's?

Sorry fridgehead, but it's already been pointed out lots and lots of times.

Here is a friendly trout for you:

10th trout!

If you really want to help solve this then why not download the client?

64/12/8

Has anyone considered that 8/12/64 was the date of James Bond creator Ian Fleming's death?

Ian Flemming died on 12th August 1964.
It could also be read 8th December 1964, Terri Hatchers birth date. She was also in a James Bond film.

Is there any chance we could lock this thread, similar to Shuffled?

As I understand it, this thread is for general discussion on how to solve the card.
The other is dedicated to the brute force attack currently going on.

Fyria

I know the puzzle has been mentioned a couple times already, but it talks about being a puzzle in 36 parts... dunno if its any relevance but base-36 or Alphadecimal is one way of writing codes that are written in english and then translated into numbers... didn't know if that was any use to know? Sounds like people are getting close though by the looks of things.
