First image

The first image is from this site:

http://www.sos-dan.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44

The text matches - the image is a strip through the word help in the subject of the first post - but it appears the site has been redesigned or is being viewed in a different format (Edit: no, that's wrong, I was just confused by the reversed colours). Apart from Unfiction, this site is the only other place I've found that really discussed xccr.

Just an observation, but flooding the site with 227664 decreases the counter by 0.01. I suppose this is what was meant by "...a loss in valuable resources, and delay in the successful completion..." All the changes so far have been caused by the counter hitting a certain number. The first was 10, does anyone remember what number it hit when this latest development surfaced?

EDIT: I've tried a few times now, but I am not able to actually occupy the cell with the flashing square. I went from 56 to 54 when I used a #3 key.

EDIT: The counter goes up 0.05 every time you get a key. And the keys do not allow you to open doors themselves, only move through open ones.

Moving from 66 to 65 (toward the flashing square) through an open door somehow just took me straight to 85. Strange.

Edit: And then from 85 to 44 after trying to pass through a closed door.

Domster: It looks to be randomizing the movement. I just went from 54 to 26 using a #4 key.

it is possible we have the grid messed up...maybe the numbers are lined up differently...so that is why our movements arent making sense.

I suppose that is very possible, and I did see the grid as an x/y plane earlier, but couldn't make it work with the binary number. It is also possible that that binary sting has nothing to do with that 'cell' we are occupying at the moment.

At the moment I am more interested in figuring out what the area at the bottom with no walls is susposed to mean. Especially now that I see that it is expanding upward like the '+' signs did from left to right at the beginning. When all the vertical lines are gone, I would guess that the next stage of the 'program' will initiate.

Also, if you enter the code every ten minutes, the counter goes up significantly. And Today, the box is blank. Maybe the counter needs to be at a certain level before we get the keys and doors. Has anyone noticeds what this might be?

Well, it was (almost) completely blank, and the counter was at 0.05 when I arrived just now.

I decremented it to see what would happen at zero: it never gets there. It goes down to 0.01 and then successive entries of the code don't decrement it any more.

Interestingly, now the box seems to be back, filled in again, and it's got hardly any open doors. (Edit: and now, five minutes later, the counter is back up to 0.04 and the grid is empty again)

Personally, I think the idea is to somehow manage to get people entering the code in a co-ordinated fashion: exactly every ten minutes, and not any more than is needed to get the keys. It might be neccessary to get the number of open doors up a little, but then I think the idea is to concentrate on manipulating the position (I think the position/co-ordinate theory is still pretty accurate).

Another interesting thing I just noticed is that the images directory appears to just be an automatically generated directory listing (with Apache, the Options directive and mod_autoindex), but actually isn't. Proof of this is the fact that you can get to the same page by using the url:

http://www.xccr.com/images/index.html

and the fact that using a sort hyperlink (Last Modified, Size etc.) has no effect on the listing. So, it's quite possible there are images in the directory that we can't see in the listing.

Oh, and of course the real proof it's not an apache index is the fact that the server is IIS Smile

Hey, new to this junk, saw an article in PCG regarding PXC, lead me here, etc. Anyways.

Anyone gotten anything out of the RSS feed?

Don't know if anyone else has found this out.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Appearently its indonesian, heres some tidbits translated:
From the whois:
Batu : The stone
Pahat : The chisel
Johor is the third largest state in the peninsula.

From the rss:
Kiri : Left
Tengah : Middle

In the jscript:
Nombor : The number

Also, the feed for left and middle are the same as on the site at the top. No clue what the title is though, doesn't match up with nothing I can see.
Was I right in thinking this should be spoiler? :/

Actually, Batu Pahat is just the name of a place in Johor, no special significance (I think).

the puzzle04 picture is taken from Unfiction, in a "negative"scale rather than the familiar brown I use. The slice cuts right through the u and the n of the logo at the top left of the page, including the "Welcome" message.

The avatar and user that is sliced under that appeares to be Stormalong. I can't tell which thread it is from.

I think it's been stated that it is a slice of the first page of this thread.

Howdy now, people.

New for today: The top-left logo has gone, replaced by some fast-moving letters?

Looking into it now.
