Starting Perplexcity W/C 15th May 06 Hi All,
I have been trying to catch up with perplexcity and complete the limited puzzles I have over the past week. I am getting to grips with the vast city slowly and all web resources available, and have made good headwind with the puzzles I have aquired.
Just a quick question really or want of opinions.
Do you feel its too late to get started in perplexcity? Do you think its nearing the close and any effort to start up in the game would be pointless as as soon as i get up to speed and on my feet the conclusion will be upon us?
any reposnes and feedback will be appreciated.
G
sorry if this is the Nmillionth time this has been asked

I'm assuming the series will be ending towards the end of the year (but that may not be true). Never too late to start, however I would use the search function and check on the wiki a lot to make sure that any questions you have havent been asked and answered before.
However there will be a second series after this one...where the fun starts all over again.
Hello btw

Hiya g4z, welcome to the
madness
fun.
I'd say it's never too late to get involved here, we're a welcoming bunch and will be glad to help you get up to speed however we can (irc is great for that, come see us in there). And anything you do catch here will be the best stuff as it leads up to the end and things get intense,
Oh, and rather than thinking your late for season 1, just think of it as being early for season 2

Absolutely not. Fresh eyes and minds might be just what's needed to solve some of the puzzles. Other people have been looking at them for so long, and may have developed certain ways of looking at a problem. If you fancy throwing yourself in at the deep end, have a look at Shuffled or something! You don't need the cards to attempt the puzzles - the info is usually posted in these forums.
Have fun

I've just started out as well g4z, so it seems we're in the same boat. But after listening to the perplexcity.com podcasts, working on some of the cards thanks to Grizy and of course reading a lot of the posts on here, I feel I'm starting to get a grasp on the hunt so far. I don't know if I'll ever fully catch up, but I haven't been totally left behind either.

I've been going at it for 4 or 5 months now and still feel behind sometimes. The good thing is that when you do come up with a question about the story so far, no one else knows the answers either. We're all still quite clueless. The story is only just begining to unfold. Definitely not too late.

I've been going at it since the cards were released (dunno how long ago but quite a while now, probbably 10 months or so) and I still feel behind at times.

it is funny really, over here in Australia we only have wave 1 cards (wave 2 coming soon apparently) so i figured i was in with a chance to catch up...
well it did take me a couple of weeks to read through all the archives and web sites, but i find i am still way behind. that's ok though, i find that there are a bunch of people here that are a lot smarter and have better memories than i, so i just read their specs and say to myself "oh yeah.... of course!" a lot.

Hey Jabba,
Good to see more Aussie's getting on boad the PXC hunt! I haven't bothered with trying to get packs of cards in the shops here, there were initially impossible to find and in any event, they are a bunch cheaper to buy direct from Firebox (about $5.50 per pack vs about $9 in shops here). They are very fast to ship them out, and you can of course then get all the latest cards!

that's is true curlytek, i just received a starter pack ($45 compared to $70 ) and it arrived in 3 days from placing the order! that was an awsome effort. i have been buying the boosters from sames world for $9 so i checked them out too, but the best i could see was around $7-8 per pack if i bought 4 at a time. where are these $5.50 ones or are you buying per box? Tis great to see another Aussie and a melbournian no less

*waves* I'm from Melbourne too!
Firebox.com is totally the best deal I've found, reasonable shipping fees and REALLY quick delivery.
latestbuy.com.au also has them fairly reasonably priced but last time I checked only have wave1+2
