[SPEC] What if Sente had been keeping the cube safe to prevent it being used against PPC all these years and the reason we had not be told it was a weapon is to protect us, if we knew it was a weapon then there would be terrorists and people searching for it who could use it to threaten our safety [/SPEC]
Just thought I should put another opinion in.
I don't know what to think tbh.
Oh, and I definitely don't think we should email Sente about it.

I dont think Sente can be trusted, especially since an anagram of Sente Kiteway is:
WEE SNEAKY TIT !

Absolute quality, almost wet myself reading that.
On a vaguely serious note, Sente has always known about the cube's power but couldn't use it as it was in the public domain, so he arranged for it to be stolen so he could use it.
Then, so he is seen to be doing something about it he invented some guff about it being on Earth (everyone knows nothing can be transported between our worlds, come on!) and involved the idiot Earth people to investigate, because we're so thick compared to them we're never going to work it all out...except I just did.

of course the only source we have telling us that the cube is a weapon is Miranda/Caroline/Helen and she was trying either to a) get Kurt to let his guard down or b) convince him to run with her, so she may not necessarily been telling the truth, just what she wanted Kurt to believe - we all know she has lied to him in the past!....
I don't think this is the case with approx 6 months (?) left of the game i think it's time we had more about the nature of the cube revealed - i just thought i would throw this thought out there!
also, i agree, don't e-mail Sente yet, lets keep our cards close to our chest for the minute anyway and see what happens following the events of yesterday

Now, now, if we're going to grill Sente, which at this point I wouldn't dislike, considering he's the only side we have any access to for getting anything close clear answers, we'd have to be artful about it. No busting down
doors
e-mail boxes, demanding answers. Three important things must be done to make sure we go about this right.
1.) We do it later. We're on a very hot tip, in the dead center of some other grand journey hundreds of miles out of city with Kurt and Violet. No need to divide focus. We wait for things to calm down again, and we start making moves at the next lull.
2.) We act as one. If no seams show, then we'll have more pull when the talks start happening, if Sente decides to play ball. We save all the debate and banter for here, and the actions we take become that of a single person, basically being the embodiment of the majority of Unfiction's will.
3.) We act anonymously. We hook up a free-mail account, get a nice little spy-sound handle going ("The Intercessor," perhaps?), and start being the cool, calm, almost omniscient-seeming Hand of Unfiction that can draw the information out.
So, what say we put this on the back-burner, and work on the details of this plan later? We're not even sure how willing the majority of UF is to do this.
(BTW, the edits have all been grammatical/minor.)

Plus Sente's making a mint out of flogging the puzzle cards and keeping some of the keenest (and most insanely driven -ahemKurtahem-) Perplexian minds occupied in the construction of cards.
It's fiendish, is what it is.

Nowhere does it say they have to reveal the nature of the cube by the end of season 1 ... heck, if the people of Perplex City are confused by the nature of the cube after almost 300 years, I'd be a bit surprised if we find out the whole story about it before Jan 1, 2007.

good point, i just figure we will have to find out more about the cube to lead us to who actually stole it - so someone can find it! thus completing s1 - but yeah this is just [spec] on my part - all i was getting at was i think we can probably believe 'Miranda' was telling the truth that the cube is a weapon, despite the fact she is not a trustworthy source

Hmmm, this is bringing up another debate for me. Return the cube and get £100,000 or use the cube for my own nefarious devices in taking over the world..
Tough choice.
P.S.
Wooo!!

While it is understandable why everyone is quick off the mark to "flog" Sente, it may not even be fair to Sente.
If you look in the chat logs, Miranda says "We're just trying to take back what's rightfully ours. The Academy have fumbled<????> around with it for centuries... they're children. Look where it is now, thanks to kite way."
That statement implies that the Academy is incompetent. We, of course, don't know exactly how they are incompetent but it is possible that Sente and his researchers simply haven't discovered the properties of the Cube.
Of course that is all speculation but it is a relatively valid point not to e-mail Sente until there is some corroborating evidence.

Well, yes and no. It implies that the Academy has not used/kept the cube in the way that Mirandoline's group would wish to have it used/kept.
I'm becoming more of the opinion that she is one of these highly dangerous 'true believers'... not in the slightly bonkers Brotherhood way, but in the 'I know what it can do, this is a power from a higher source' way.

Every time you email Sente, a kitten kills God.
Or something like that.

Congrats.
[SPEC]The Cube - in the physical form we have to find on Earth - is actually a nuclear weapon. No, it really is. TWIST.[/SPEC]
Just my two cents, because there's good arguments on every side - wait a little while, until the latest dustcloud settles and it looks like things are going to be quiet, then run a poll in this forum. That way it saves having to tally answers through each post, and...yeah. Answer could be yes/no/wait a bit longer.
Uhh.
Yeah.
