So, excuse me for having made sure that my severely traumatised friend was back at home, had been given the once-over by a doctor, had a fridge full of goodies from the Alchemy Bay Provisions Company and me installed on his sofa before sorting through the belongings of his dead ex-girlfriend who, oh yes, he happened to have killed. Somehow I just didn't think he'd take kindly to seeing me rifle through her bits and pieces instead of driving him away from the potentially homicidal agents who are probably looking for us right now. And, yes, if I sound a little stressed myself, I expect it's just the emotional and physical exhaustion talking.

Right. Deep breath. As far as I can tell there's no one trying to kill either me or Kurt right now, and he's asleep in the next room so I have taken the opportunity to go through Miranda's bag. Which, as I anticipated, does not contain a map with a big cross on it and the words "Cube buried here". It's mostly clothes. There's some lightweight, high-tech camping gear and intelligent fabric garments that will have been useful to her on her travels. Forgive me if I don't immediately go and show all this to Kurt. There are a number of bits of paper identification: they're not so much use in the city, but out in the sticks people will still accept paper ID. They come in half a dozen different names: Caroline and Sarah, Emma, Persephone, Gail and Amelia. There's a key as well - I very gently asked Kurt to scan it but he says it's completely empty. It's probably one she picked up at the drop-point in the mines and was intending to use later.

And, finally, there's an extremely familiar-looking piece of weathered paper. Familiar looking because I could have sworn I'd worked on exactly this document, except that I know that the document I worked on is safely lodged in the Academy museum. It's a page from the Granier diary - the last page, in fact - and the writing is almost identical to the page I've already deciphered, apart from about two sentences which look quite different. And yes, before you ask, I've already given Anna a call. We're going to work on translating it together later on today. And yes, this will entail some further explanations on my part. And yes, my father has been calling. And yes, I'm going to have to talk to him sometime soon too.

 		Persephone? Holy Smokes! Miranda/Caroline was the one who hacked the Hanso Foundation site. That must mean the Hanso Foundation was somehow involved in the theft of the cube. If I had to guess I'd say the cube is currently hidden on a isolated tropical island somewhere in the Pacific, perhaps in some kind of underground bunker system. I must go book my tickets now...

 		Well, shock horror, the diary page has appeared. Or at least, A diary page has appeared. Cue suspenseful music until we find out what those two sentences really say. Unless this is another forgery (though why should it be, except that nothing in Perplex City is ever straightforward), or has been damaged so is now untranslatable. Hmmmm.

For what its worth my money is on the lines:

On a lark, I anagrammed the first letters of the aliases. SAC PEG and GAP SEC. So, either whateverhernameis was something you put your shopping bag on when you hang it up, or really into cheesy fashion stores. *shrugs*

I think I get it now. The button is some system to keep the cube from going critical and detonating. Hence, Locke (well, now Eko) has to push the button to add more coolant to the container. Now the Others, they're either 3P or Brotherhood agents on Earth. The cloud-monster is the cube in gaseous form (it can do that, y'know). I think that's it. Respond if I missed any mysteries.

[Spec] I get the impression that the 3P don't know where the cube is, so that leads me to believe that there is another secret evil society that we are as yet unaware of, who stole the cube and therefore has the best idea of where it is [/Spec]

Hey, America gets the season finale Wednesday (Thursday for me because I work the Twilight Sort at UPS, ~5:00-10:00p.m., so I buy the episode off iTunes the day after), so pardon us if we have an overabundance of knowledge. Besides, if you really want to know, the island is...

Of course we cannot ignore that the cloud monster is actually our favorite assasin 'V', in gaseous form (uhmm, that explains a lot).

Just because you have more knowledge doesnt mean you have to post that knowledge here and spoil the show for other people. And if you are intent on posting it, then spoiler it and clearly mark it as Lost spoilers.
Im speaking from experience here, because i accidentally posted Lost S2 spoilers without thinking on this forum a while back (here in Ireland we are up to episode 15, UK tv channels suck Smile ), but i swiftly edited them out when i realised what id done, and i felt pretty bad/stupid/embarassed about it too, because i know that I wouldnt appreciate it if it happened to me.

So i think you should remove/spoiler your previous Lost spoiling post Cecil, to save any further damage to its viewers across the Atlantic
