Well, after compiling all the files in chronological order and reading through them (I hadn't really been following the conversation), this all seems very interesting.

Scratch uncovered something. He says he'd been following Caesar's trail and had discovered his secret. Then Caesar says to him:

....a storyline remark:
- there seems to be some coherence between our two "sets of carachters" now - Beth and Phil and the lot + the hackers - in both cases someone is getting upset with someone else for doing something underhanded...errr...something like that...anyway, get my drift?

Also, in this conversation between the hackers there�s a reference to "fleshspace", RL, and something going on out there which is connected to whatever it is the hackers are doing.
It could be that they and Beth (keeping her latest mail in mind) are approaching the same unknown entity (or event, or system, or something) from opposite sides.
I haven�t looked closely at the latest files (maybe someone would like to do an entire "manuscript" of all the hacker talk - Yanka? You seem to have a grasp of those guys...), but it looks like Scratch and Texel are out - caesar gets to be "the man", which I don�t think is good, since he seems more like a raving anarchist promoting himself, and (from our point of view) the cooler heads of Scratch and Tex would be nice to have...

I think "the grid" in this case refers to the internet - we know about the matrix, but I don�t think any of our in-game people suspect anything like that yet. Some of them definetely suspect some sort of conspiracy, but they have little or no clue as to its nature.

Hmm...I created a Word file where I compiled all the conversations in chronological order, to try to understand what's been going on. It was for my own reference, but I might as well upload it if anyone wants to take a look... Very Happy

It's kinda big, though, zipped at 5.48mb, because it's got all the pics in it.

Wow... the ARG where you just aren't allowed to have a few days off sick... Not only have the boards lit up, but Scratch has had like a major brain explosion!!

Getting the feeling that we will shortly recieve confirmation/denial that Ceaser is/isn't Avery.... which I think is where we're going with the "off the grid" reference: the "grid" can mean things like the 'net etc, but it makes me think off the power grid, off the social security grid... completely off radar.

So Scratch finds something out about caesar, probably off-line (as in, not in the conversation we can see), and jumps up and down to draw attention to himself: posting on paintover and going for an obviously un-subtle directory on Metacortechs.com itself, which obviously has Ceasar spooked from the get-go. (big props to Marl for laying it all out)

The plot... as they say... thickens...

Why did they use the clouds from thenekodas? Was that one of the members letting Caesar know that they know who he is IRL? Perhaps Caesar is Ethan? You wouldn't think so, since Ethan asked how secure their weblog conversation was... but there has to be a reason they used that pic.

Edit to add - OH - maybe the HIM and HER referenced is Ethan and Dina? Perhaps THAT is why they used the clouds, to prove knowledge of him and her?

after seeing the mask pic with "no more" written next to it...reminds me of a mask for theatre, we already have seen "DRAMA", maybe thats a link...maybe its midsummer nights dream by shakespeare coz of the horns, but probably not...might be a demon type person...or simply the meaning "no more masks"...

interesting one of them is called the patronising name "sonny" at one point...sonnys horse is called red ace:
