It ain't over...

It ain't over... 'til the fat lady sings.

Martha was the fat lady in Push...
and I don't recall her singing! Laughing

Somewhere,
if only in the deep recesses of the mind...
the experiment goes on...
the hunt continues...
and the treasure twinkles...
like a diamond in the deep blue sky!

For the sake of history...

Just who IS this "Mark Nakamoto" that (ostensibly and allegedly) won the PUSH contest?

If you Google "Mark Nakamoto," you'll get hits, okay, but they will ALL be connected to PUSH and his winning the contest.

It’s as if "Mark Nakamoto" has NO existence apart from a PUSH context.

Wouldn't you think that a brilliant, hotshot 24-year-old assistant editor of a "Manhattan publishing company," would have some sort of Web or Internet presence other than just ONE connection to a TV game/show?

For a test, I put my own (rather uncommon) real name in the Google search engine and got over 13 pages of hits... and I'm not particularly well known.

This kind of begs the question, if there are dozens of hits for no one in particular, what's with this Nakamoto guy?

The answer that comes to me is the following:

Apart from the PUSH contest, "Mark Nakamoto" doesn't exist. Period.

And how about that article in "People?" ...

Didn't that strike you as strange?

"People" mag is all about the pictures, photos and photos on top of photos...

Since part of the contest is a deal for the use of one's "likeness" ...where are the "likenesses" of "Mark Nakamoto?" Where is the picture of him with his smiling face waving at the cameras?

WHY are we swallowing this “stuff” whole?!

WHY are we letting these dweebs (ABC et al.) set the tone and terms for future contests and get away with any kind of BS they want to parcel out?

Wouldn't you like to know if "Mark's" publishing company is in any way tied to "Hyperion?"

"Hyperion" which is not only a publishing house but a huge social and market research entity and an arm (tentacle?) of the Disney global megalopoly.

[Check out online references to a book called _Team Rodent_.]

Don't you remember? Even Derek C. said we are ALL being manipulated. And believe it or not, we ARE all being studied, scrutinized, our thoughts and responses noted and recorded, categorized and catalogued for future reference.

So... do you think it would be a good idea to WAKE UP AND GET BACK ON THE TRAIL?

[Tho’ perhaps cautiously... so that we don’t “drown” ...]

As for me? I’LL BELIEVE THAT "MARK NAKAMOTO" EXISTS...

(figured out and called in 2 minutes flat to give the solution of that blur of information DC ran by in a garbled flash)

...WHEN HOLOGRAMS CAN CAST SHADOWS AND LEAVE A TRACE OF BREATH ON THE MIRRORS THAT PROJECT THEM!

And call me a "Doubting Thomasina," but no digitized avatar nor cyborg nor clever AI nor replicant nor well-coached human stand-in will satisfy me. I want to touch the hollows in the hands of the real winner and Not-So-Hollow-Man.

Actually, Martha did hold an impromptu concert, according to www.marthasboardinghouse.com a few weeks back. Wink

I must say, I too did like any intrepid ARG'er (ARG'er??!!) would do, and googled and searched the snot out of Mr. Nakamoto, just to see if I could glean anything about him, including whether he was a member of any forums or groups. I was a little surprised to find no difinitive reference to him anywhere on the 'net.

But then I had to come to a conclusion that I think none of us wanted to face. This guy solved the Push Ultimate Solve by himself, offline, in his living room. Okay, maybe he had friends there helping him, but he was OFFLINE! The horror! I've heard of people like that. I used to be one of them. I actually watched TV a lot more than I do now, just because that was all there was to do, lol.

Let's face it folks. If someone made the correct assumptions first, which someone was bound to do, the puzzle was easily solvable in two minutes. Plus, they were serious when they said it could be solved just by watching the show. We did all the online stuff, searching, countless hours. But Mark kept it simple, and didn't get bogged down in all the other stuff we did.

Ding!

Oh, well. It was fun, though. Very Happy

and it's not inconceivable that, even if he WERE online, he would be largely invisible to Google and other search engines. After all, I have virtually no web presence whatsoever outside of my "Ozy" identity, and I think most other folks might be able to say the same....

Huh? Ozy, you know that if Google can't find you, you don't exist!
