I've just downlaoded it at work and it says that there is a new version available..... Exiting.
Then Closes.
I hoped that it was a spelling mistake and the news of a new client was exciting.

Sorry about that Sad
Phew so glad I could find this (was tired of getting the "a new client is avaliable, see [the website]" message) - but now that I've installed the patch and it's running again, I'm startign WU 1 of 25. Is this right?

PS: I can see by the timestamps that you JUST got this up - otherwise, I was going to suggest putting this up on the .tk site so people can find it w/o coming to unfiction.... but nevermind! Keep up the awesome work! (We really really do appreciate it, even though we're always pointing out bugs and errors and delays Mr. Green )

EDIT: Nevermind. Must've missed a couple posts back there... so we are back to 25 now, eh?

The 13th Labour site has been updated now and both the full version and patch are available to download.

On another note - the prize pool has now got almost all the cards released to date but requires some very generous offers of spare silvers. We have #226 #247 and #251

We also need all wave 3 black apart from #193 and #194

Any offers Smile

Hi all, just spotted the new client do this:

Starting Unit 929590612 12 of 25 at:05/30/2006 20:08:32
[-----------------------------PROGRESS------------------------------------]
[.......................t............

Don't know if this is important, but I haven't seen this happen on any other version (I'm referring to the 't')....

What does it mean?!

It means you typed a "t" while it was processing, you'll notice that the line will go one "." further than normal.

You sure? Cause I can't type a "t" when I try. Or is that OS-dependent?

Btw: if the right key is found how would it look like?

Just a pre-emptive posting (before people start worrying).

I have recycled a whole stack of unprocessed units today (ones which were allocated to clients but never done).

These are now being processed through, which means you may see fairly randomly distributed workunits at a much lower numeric value than you have been seeing of late.

Fear not, you are not redoing work that has been done before (they haven't been processed) and these have never been included in the completed count.

It doesn't do it on my client (using Win XP) is it only people using macs/linux?

I second the question from earlier:

What will it look like if our running client comes up with a possible key (which, as I understand it, is a key with an output of all printable ASCII characters)? Will it say "Possible key found" on a new line? Will it not say anything at all?

(This would be helpful for people like me, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll leave it on overnight and then scroll through them in the morning to see if any are demarked specially.)

Thanks! Very Happy

Further to my "exception that can't be handled" problems the other day - Everything seems to be running fine (albeit very slowly!) on an old Win98 machine, and my desktop with XP Pro seems ok now. I've now only got the problem on my laptop (running XP Home, if that's important).

The message I get is the same as previously posted, but with different numbers in. No idea what they mean, so here they are, in case they're significant: "Process id=0x5c0 (1472), Thread id=0x1228 (4648)."

I've tried reinstalling the whole thing except client.txt and units.txt, as suggested by QBKooky, with no success. I have no idea how this thing works, so what happens if I install the whole thing from scratch? I don't want to muck up the entire thing by getting rid of the files! If I'm being an eejit and I've done something wrong somewhere, can someone please explain nicely how to fix this?

Apologies for being a nuisance with this. Hooray to everyone for the work done so far - I just want my laptop doing its fair share to whiz through the work that's still to be done.

Any chance we could get a "Assault on the Thirteenth Labour" leaderboard? I sure would like to know just how many units some of you have crunched through. Everyone loves a little competition right? Wink

Almost at 12%! Those WUs are falling mighty quickly these days...
