ooookay. We've re-found Sally, and gag-a-rifficness abounds. The site looks more amateurish and up to Sally's abilities than PRB.com ever did (that was way too slick).

For instance,
Sally wrote:
I grew up with Jeff in Virginia. I didn't meet him till I was 12. He was college-age, but he wasn't going to college. He didn't kiss me or nothing till I was fourteen.

/me chokes quietly in the corner

PoorRichardRocks contains a lot of the same information that the previous version of Poorrichardband/music.com did, such as Lyn's journals and the deep, philosophical band biographies that Sally wrote.

There's also (another) forum here, with topics like "FAVORITE POOR RICHARD SONG!" and lots of pictures in the gallery.

*shudder* 14. *gagging noises*

Gagger-ific, indeed. Maybe Sally's age is behind the blackmail? That sort of thing ain't legal.

Maybe I'm not recalling something I should be, or this has more do with the blackmail, but...

They make it sound like it was Poor Richard's fault. But it wasn't. They got scared of the guys with guns and back down.

Who are the guys with the guns?

Perhaps it might have something to do with the ""About The Band" entry on the official Poor Richard site?

Hanover Media wrote:
The powder-keg was a right-wing religious group determined to keep the band silenced.

...

Unfortunately, with a home grown fatwa on their heads, riot police soon followed. The incidents of violence were well-covered in the press.

I dunno who the guys with the guns are, but the mention of someone named "Jenny" is new.

So two mysteries there: Who is Jenny and What's with the guns?

So, what would you like to put in the forums at this site? Do they really want us to make up our reactions to the music, gigs we saw, times we ran into the band in the street or at a bar? I suppose it lets the players shape things too.

IMHO, If they didn't want us to post in the forums, they wouldn't let anyone register to them and leave all those threads open for discussion. At this point, those are the only ways to possibly interact with character from the game - i.e. Lyn and Sally.

I'm a little hesitant to make up the "where are they now" stuff - that may be updated as we find more info out. But I think things like "when you first saw the band" or whatever are fine, as long as you aren't making up key things about the band. Right now, for example, we know the names of the poor richard music albums and a few songs - so I'd stick with the names we know for "favorite song" or whatever.

Thats my 2 cents, anyway. Smile

I'd be motivated to make posts like that it if it helped move things along, if I could entertain the other players, or if I could contribute something that really fit in with what they're trying to create. I'm not very excited about choosing a favorite song out of 3 that I haven't heard and have read only minimal lyrics from. I don't want to say, "I saw them at the Mercury Lounge last summer", and have it ignored, or worse have them say, "what! They've never been there!" On the other hand, if they're implying that we can take our best shot at contributing ideas that they might use, I'd try to let it inspire me. Not that I'm much of a writer or musician...

I must take a moment to note that Adam's bio pic has him in Marine Dress Blues, and apparently sans Eagle/Globe/Anchor collar adornments. As a sergeant, I feel a need to slap him silly.

Anyway.

Sally's posting in the forums weekly, and is asking for baby names. With Suri and Barron already taken, I am tempted to recommend the name Lyn and see what happens.
