[EMAIL] 5/30 From Sarah - Book Log List

I sent this inquiry on May 25:

Quote:
I would like to request a copy of the Pine Barren Poets' Book Log please.

I received this reply about an hour ago:

Quote:
Dear Max,

Certainly! The Pine Barren poets are reading "19th Century American Works
You Studied in High School":

January: Louisa May Alcott - Little Women (1868)
February: Nathaniel Hawthorne - The Scarlet Letter (1850)
March: Mark Twain - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876)
April: Harriet Beecher Stowe - Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852)
May: Edgar Allan Poe - Complete Stories and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe
(1809-1849)
June: Henry James - The Turn of the Screw (1898)
July: Herman Mellville - Moby Dick (1851)
August: James Fenimore Cooper - The Last of the Mohicans (1826)
September: Kate Chopin - The Awakening (1899)
October: Henry David Thoreau - Walden; Or, Life in the Woods (Dover
edition) (1854)
November: Stephen Crane - The Red Badge of Courage (1895)
December: Walt Whitman - Leaves of Grass (1891)

Thanks so much for your inquiry.

Sincerely,
Sarah Wyatt

I got similar:

Quote:
Dear Mark,

Thank you very much for your kind letter. I am sure that the Pine Barren
Poets would be delighted to have a visitor on hand for their July meeting.
Remind me a little bit closer to the date and I will get one of the
officers to contact you with the location. In July the book club should
be discussing Moby Dick. I'm going to see if I can get Sam to update the
Library page with the book log. There's been a real wave of interest
lately. In the meantime, here's the complete list.

The Pine Barren poets are reading "19th Century American Works You Studied
in High School":

And speaking of interest, it's wonderful to know that a friend from 'cross
the pond shares my view on the proposed plans for the Library! Although
there hasn't been an actual decision as yet, a lot of powerful people seem
to be interested in tearing her down. I can't tell you how hard I've
wished for someone to help us out. Who knows? I wish all you nice people
who have been emailing recently can find a way to stop the destruction
where I have not.

Sincerely,
Sarah Wyatt
