Bit Off Topic But Just Thought I Would Check

Beth Uses A Band For Her Password

MetaDex: mlo
Name: Marcus Ormond
DOB: April 22, 1939
Location: Redland, WA
Occupation: Management- tech industry
Favorite Song: Beatles - When I'm 64
Website: metacortechs.com
"We can't allow science to undo its own good work."

Marcus Ormond Mentions the Beatles with when im 64.
If he was born in 1939 it means he is 64 now.
Its also a song from the beatles

Quote:
When I'm Sixty-four

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday morning go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wright, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four.

mlo's password is a base64 encoding of the word "MLO". This gives "TUxP" as his password. The song was just a further hint to look at "64".

EDIT: Yes, and this is really off topic. Please find an appropriate thread before posting next time.

WHY do you keep posting stuff that was covered all the way back in the begining? I have seen several people tell you to look around and see what has already been mentioned or figured out but you continue to repeat old news. I don't get it.... Confused

A great way to check and see if an idea has already been discussed is the Search function at the top of the page. And a little hint... make sure and choose to Display results as: Posts. This will give you every post that has discussed your idea. Smile

[Spec] Bakers Dozen And then Some?

AdrenalinDave wrote:

Well, there might be something in this. I've been thinking that the hackers might just be sysadmins at each of the nodes of the MetaCortechs/underscore network backbone. That would give them an expectation of just how many hackers were expected to show up for the meet (since they'd know how many of them there was supposed to be), and they then might be surprised if they got more than that.

Even if you don't believe this business about sysadmins and nodes, you can read into .kbp's comment (Mello we might call him) that 13 were expected:
Quote:
yep, so i'm here. is that all? baker's dozen and then some? what what what what.

This comment gets posted in the middle of the conversation. How does he know there are 13 or so hackers if only half of those have posted at that point.

We end up with 15 file extensions in carelessly. I've been speculating wildly that .bh is an uninvited guest ... remove him/it to get 14. Now maybe Caesar himself is a special case too since its his party, so remove him and you get back to 13, which is possibly what was expected.

Other than just the paintover images, Caesar must have previously contacted these hackers to let them know to look at paintover (he could know how many were invited). There's no telling how and when he did that (theoretically before the first paintover image was posted). Furthermore, by the silvia files, they seem to have some sense of purpose (talking about the whomp), and by unjust they know the drill (to show the logger figures they recorded). Either Caesar has communicated to them just what they are supposed to be doing in another forum (double pun that), or Caesar's instructions on what their purpose is and what they are meant to do together are specified in the October 1st image that we haven't been able to crack.

I'm starting to think that the "files" mentioned here:

Quote:
bigmclargehuge3.jpg - Text File (Caesar)
Dude, what are you doing? I should pull these files,
we shouldn't be here.

are the pictures here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2925

These seem to be something you wouldn't want to get posted...

Hah! That's what I thought (and maybe still think Confused ), and said that in that thread.

However, there is a slight problem. Your Caesar's quote is incomplete. He also says
Quote:
Where'd you get that pic?

But the last update of the incident has 4 pics.

BUT, I still maintain that Scratch must have shown something to everybody, some evidence so overwhelming that it enabled them to make an immediate and rather crucial decision to leave.

[EDIT] And if Scratch showed them the Aquapolis, HOW did he do it? I keep re-reading the conversation, but I cannot see any hints of a url, etc. [EDIT]

I think what ceasar was saying that Scratch shouldn't have initiated the meeting and they shouldn't have been in that particular place. The picture he was referring to was the picture that Scratch put up on paintover.net. The files he was referring to were the files of the conversation. He was afraid Scratch was going to screw everything up.
