It has taken me several minutes (no, hours) to compose myself enough to put fingers to keys and address you in any sort of reasonable manner - although, using the word 'reasonable' within ten paragraphs of your name is laughable, really!

How dare you - you who call yourself a professional, a researcher, with a certain measure of integrity - bring the credibility of our studies into question with credentials that may be no more real than some of the ghosts about which you write? How dare you stain the hard work and reputation of hundreds of authors, contributors, and volunteers with this sham setup you've created?

I can thus far find no evidence of the actual studies that you have cited, and believe me, as a researcher, I tried every which way of proving you have some integrity in your work. Help me out here: are we debunking the paranormal event which happens to be your existence, or can you provide me some shred of truth, some conclusive evidence that shows me you are actually who you say you are and that you have the slightest understanding of the research you purport to know so much about? This is unbelievable! How have you gotten this far in your career on such shoddy footing? What on earth could you possibly have to say for yourself about all this?

I'm at a loss, here. I value the work my associates and I do far too much to be hoodwinked by someone who seeks to undermine a segment of academia which already suffers from a severe case of nay-sayers and cynics.

Give me something solid, and soon, or I will blow this thing wide open. You will not make me, or the paranormal community, take a hit for what you've done.

I think it's almost certainly a letter from Phil to Leo Kane. He sent it to Beth to get her opinion of it or something...I do that a lot. I can see that happening, especially if he really liked the letter...heehee. So what does this mean? Wongmo isn't real? *tear* I heart Wongmo!

 		if he's talking about wongmo there, and theres some angry letters to wongmo i saw somewhere... maybe wongmos inner dolphin theories and stuff said stuff about you being in a computer... now phillip thinks its complete bs ...

That's exactly what I thought when I read it. Reading it again, it still strikes me that way. Fake credentials, sham setup, cited studies ... all that sounds like it comes out of Phillip's investigation of Kane.

I have a hard time believing Phillip was directing those sentiments at Beth ... and yet now we know that Beth was hurt and confused by that email, clearly believing the letter was directed at her (so if Phillip was planning to tell her it was an email to Kane that he wanted her opinion on, he forgot to mention it). And Phillip did nothing to dissuade her of the notion that the accusations were directed at her ... not telling her 'That was meant for Leo Kane, not you', but instead apologizing for sending it to her at all.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I'm incredibly confused by this.

 		Yeah, the lack of emotion when Beth pulls Phill up is a bit concerning: to me that reads that the message WAS intended for Beth, and that a lack of "oh, I meant to send that to..." means he's sticking to his guns... And neither did Beth say "you know none of that's true..." which says to me"Yeah, I'm a sham, I'm a fake".

So: JUST WHO IS Beth McConnell?

Not mega important right now, but it may well be. Ties in nicely with the "hey what if Beth is the baddie and Katherine is the goodie?" theory.

Naa, I'd say Beth is too stupid/naive to be our baddy.
Really, using names of fav. bands as passwords. Twice.
Not even my sister would do this, and she's on AOL, so go figure. Rolling Eyes

So I'd also say it's a bcc of a letter Phil sent to Kane.

Maybe Phillip is keeping his investigation of Leo Kane from Beth for some reason. If Beth is not supposed to know about it, it could explain why he didn't come right out and say "that email was meant for Kane".

Just trying to consider other options.

It's a good explanation, although Phillip did tell Beth he was investigating Kane. See the emc2 DexTop for a mail from Phillip that says:

But why send her that email in the first place ... oh, I know, he changed his mind, right? But why doesn't he do anything to put Beth's mind at ease a little?

Ok...spec:
The e-mail was directed at Kane. Phil copied it to Beth for her reading pleasure, forgetting to mention who it was addressed to. Beth gets confused and upset, logically.

Meanwhile (or before that, most likely), Phil goes into Kane's office and finds those passports and angry letters to Wongmo and uploads the pics to his metadex.

At some point, Phil runs into Wongmo. He gets totally brainwashed (heh, chemically or otherwise...) and sends that loving letter to Wongmo that we read in Wongmo's mailbox. So he tells Beth that it was an error, and that of course they're still friends, because [he has listened to his inner dolphin] although he doesn't say that part...

Hmm. Doesn't entirely make sense, but none of this makes sense! Evil Phil, confusing us to thoroughly...grr.

Well, that's one reason Phil might have changed his mind ... somebody else might have changed it for him Laughing

It's farfetched sounding, but better than anything I've got. Phil's behavior here seems to be irrational ... why should there be a reasonable or rational explanation for it?

I didn't realize it at first, but later when AQN sent the nasty letter to Phillip. I knew then immediately that's what happened.

 		Oh! Ha. Well, now it's obvious... I got that the letter to Beth wasn't for her, but didn't catch that it worked the other way around....oh, so that's where the romance comes in. Awwww, how cute....

I mean, um, I knew that from the beginning. Yep. *sigh* Oh, the dangers of sleep deprivation...

I wanna do another ARG, but just don;t know what to get into. In the back of my head, I wast to design my own ARG. That would be fun. Alot of work, but fun.
