Another college has it as well, Alfred University.

Quote:
HSR 307 - Myth, Ritual, and the Creative Process 4 hours.

A cross-cultural explanation of how people establish their world views by narrating stories and by acting out their deepest aspirations and beliefs. Special attention to how and why symbolic frameworks are transmuted from certain forms to others through creative imagination. Prerequisite: One course in Religious Studies, Philosophy of Arts, or permission of instructor. (Alternate years)

I think in both cases it is a college course number designation (pershaps where Dave got his inspiration for the symbol?). I think in most colleges the first number in the group (3 in this case) implies that it is a Junior level (3rd year) course.

If our NRG is MrLeeds, then the PM messed up with the timing. The first video "Sleepers" was posted to youtube 3 weeks ago. NRG talked about going out to the Pine Barrens *this* weekend.

And two seemingly unrelated characters with the same last name (Cecil Leeds at AGP) - could be they are related, but NRG did not mention having a relative working so close when he talked about coming to Aglaura to a new job.

Interesting spec - could be a continuity error or they could be related. I think that NRG will post some link if he makes a video.

On the other hand, I sure hope those tattoed kids don't decide to make 3-0-7 into one of those sacrifical cults with our NRG fellow mysteriously disappearing or being found dead. Ugh.

Since NRG just got the disposable camera this past week (Memorial Day) and the first video went up May 20th or there about, I don't think NRG and Mr. Leeds are the same guy.

However it is possible that the "Chased" video was made that weekend - maybe Mr. Leeds was in the area and some of the "Kids" made spooky noises (or had a connection to a spook) to scare him off?

The follow up video today could easily have been taken in the area that NRG was taken... too bad we don't know NRG's name. We could see if he returned to work after the weekend. Maybe we should keep watching and see if any news story turns up on the Aglaura home page about the Nurse from Greatwater General.

If you really want to go back (and this is what makes the whole thing so creepy weird) my history with the number 307 goes back to high school, where as a freshman I read this freaky book about an island. It was by a French dude, Rene or Renee something,

Y2kBozo asked Turing Principle about the name (we also found it through The Answer Project that came before Turing Principle)

turingprinciple: 3-0-7 is another name for the numbered ones or the dead eyes and is a name taken from a novel by Rene Barjavel.

He may be part of the film crew though. The clips we've seen can be viewed as part of a movie, possibly in the style of Blair Witch.

Update. The good, bad, and weird.

Quote:
A Third Choice

Well, as the old saying goes, I've got good news and I've got bad news. Which would you like first? Actually, this time around, there's even a third choice, what I'd have to call weird news, but I'll get around to that in a minute. So I'm going to start off with the good news, because the good news is what makes the bad news bad anyway.

I've got proof, video proof that this whole 307 thing is not all in my head. Tattoo Brad delivered the goods, although he really wasn't intending to. The little shit met me like he said he would, down in the park, but I could tell right away that something was up. I'm old, but not old enough to have the wool pulled over by some punk that thinks having ink on his arm makes him tough. It didn't make him smart either, it turns out. But I digress. Brad first tried to hit me up for money, and said he wasn't taking me anywhere until I gave him $40.00. The money didn't really matter but I wasn't going to let the stupid little bitch pull that crap and not be able to "find anything" out there, so I told him that I would pay him, but only after he showed me where the signs were in the woods. He seemed surprised I even went for the idea at all and agreed. Off into the Pine Barrens we went, my socks taped to my pants. No chiggers this time.

After a few minutes, he pointed at the old dead tree along the trail before veering into the unmarked pines. Just a few minutes more and we were at a small clearing of sorts and Brad was turning around and telling me to pay up. The moron had placed ten stones in a circle of sorts around the clearing, in something close to the 307 pattern. But he hadn't even gotten that quite right. He was growing nervous I could tell as I checked out the rock formation and made disapproving guttural noises. "What the Hell is this?" I asked him. "What?" was all he said in reply. "Listen asshole, you didn't say anything about rocks on the ground before and you know it. It took you about five minutes to come out here and make this little phony scene, didn't it? Forty bucks for 5 minutes work, that's not too bad."

I took a step or two closer to Mr. Not-Looking-So-Tough-Now-Even-with-a-Tat Brad before he said, "No, wait, man. OK. Wait. I, I didn't know what to do. The place where we saw the symbols before, it's gone. I swear. It was right over there, about ten minutes farther into the Barrens but they're all gone. I didn't want to disappoint you, man." "So you thought you'd lie to me instead, right? 'Cause I'm stupid or something, like you?" With that he had enough and bolted, heading back towards the trail we had come from. I couldn't have caught him if I tried, and I knew it. So where's the good news in this?

Since I was already out there, I decided to go a little farther, in the direction Brad had pointed before he left. And it wasn't too long before I saw it, an old crumbling stone foundation rising up from the forest floor in the middle of nowhere. The old stone structure was interesting by itself and I wondered what the Hell it used to be, way out here where no sane man should be. I was debating whether or not to use some of the video on it when I saw the paper nailed into the tree on one side of the old ruined building. I actually yelled out loud when I saw what was on it. (If there was no one in the woods to hear me though, did I actually make a sound?) The freakin' 307 symbol, right there, printed on what almost looked to be a portion of blueprint paper or something. I took some film of it and am pretty sure I got some good stuff, but the problem with these CVS video cameras is that you can't see what's on it after you film, except for the very last segment you shot. I didn't know that until I had filmed a bunch of scenes and couldn't go back and check them, so who knows how they turned out. When I did check it looked OK though, so fingers crossed and all that.

It was already getting dark and I was worried I wouldn't find my way out so I left, but I'm almost certain now that I know how to get back there. Another trip to CVS first, but I am going back, because there's more out there. There was something inside the old foundation that I couldn't quite make out from where I was, and I wasn't quite brave enough to go through the crumbling stone arched doorway, and stand in there where the remaining field stones towered thirty, forty feet above my head on three sides. But I've got to go back and see what's there, I know.

Damn. I'm out of time. I hate third shift, especially in a town where it seems like almost everyone is in bed by 9:00 or so. So I sit there, waiting for someone to roll over and fall out of bed, or have a bad reaction to Mother's pot roast or something, trying to stay awake until 7:00. Is it possible that Hell isn't flames at all but pine trees?

Oh yeah, the bad news. You can't get the goddamn video out of the CVS cameras by yourself. They have to do it for you. I swear they're just a new gimmick to keep the developing labs in business, now that digital cameras have killed the regular photo market for them. The bastards put that in small enough print too, so no one's likely to see it before they buy them.

The weird news will have to wait.

UPDATE June 17 Call For Help

Nurse guy has sent out a call for help.

Quote:
Help

Damn, damn, damn. I know from the web stats for this site that people have been reading my writings here. At this point and after the last few days, I really wish that weren't the case, but wishes aren't going to get me anywhere now.

I can't explain at the moment, I shouldn't even be taking the time to type this up, but I need help. Please email me, I have no where else to turn. My address is keith at three-o-seven.com. I need your address, not your email, but your mailing address if you are willing to share it with me.

Please. I'm not one for trusting people and I have no magic words I can say to get you to trust me, but I'm asking anyway. With desperation comes new perspective.

Damn, damn, damn. I have to go.
