If we shuffle the dissappearing text, we can get:

UHUFF LEDFO URTHP RIMGX

Then if we drop the trailing 'X' and rotate the first and last letter by -2, we can get:

SHUFFLED FOURTH PRIME

This seems interesting because the rotated letters "frame" the phrase much like the ciphertext is "framed" by the dissappearing letters.

Interesting, too neat to be coincidence. Can you tell if there is any method to the way your plaintext is shuffled to get the disappearing letters?

Wow! That almost has got to be a big clue. Ourward letters. Shuffling. Prime.

(or am I being too optimistic/hopeful?)

It would also explain the need for the 20 characters. And it would be clear what the cyphertext would be (108 characters).

Now what do we do with it?

Fourth prime is 7 right?

Hmmm.

@brokasaphasia: interesting read btw.

Anagram "seven" to "evens"?

Not much luck on the even 108 characters both zero based evens and 1 based evens. (Basically both even and odds.)

I'll second the request to feed us details on your "shuffling" means Kian?

Amazing find! feels so right on so many levels!

Maybe every even of every group of 5? (or 3)

Wouldn't that leave 43 characters? Maybe use them? Or combine them with "entropy wins" (also 43 long) and use the 65 as ciphertext? (which is conform protocol)

Its too late for me now. Gotta sleep.

It's an anagram:

Code:

EODMFXRUTHFHURGIFULP
uhuffledfourthprimgx

Then drop the trailing X as is customary, then ROT-24 "u" and "g".

Any chance that
Quote:
SHUFFLED FOURTH PRIME
is a suggestion to try a Rot-7 on the text and then shuffle the text(anangram). I have been at it for awhile using the 108 text (no go so far)and using the phrase
Quote:
"If entropy wins, outward looks should leave you cold.
first letters and using the seventh letters of all the texts, so far without any luck.

Sh1ft, yes. I was hoping there was an algorithm to the "shuffling" to obtain the anagram.... but I cannot find any algorithm so far. (might be same algorithm that must be performed on the ciphertext).

Bendover, Shuffled Fourth Prime feels like "EVENS" to me (as Sh1ft pointed out). I've tried to de-solitaire all permutations of simple starting decks (including 9! of prime card decks) on just the EVEN 54 characters to no avail.

I've also tried every permutation of SEVEN as a Solitaire keyword on the 108 ciphertext to no avail.

An unfinished anagram of the whisper:
use solution of cold word to solve RPYWINAKHLDEAYU
(I'm wondering if the whisper + Kian's discovery together leads to a keyed deck for Solitaire.)

brokasaphasia I can now see how
Quote:
SHUFFLED FOURTH PRIME
seven=evens makes more sense than a ROT-7 Dunce so now it's trying to figure out "what" evens refers to and what to do with it.

Could Evens be a reference to the "Even" Blocks of Text out of the 108?
So from:
WBBMC HGFIB LXCQY WEZFL ITHPJ LFHWY ETKWY LJOTY YNGYJ BIOGI FUVMR
XIHGU RAGXH NQHRS XAWJU FJTAM SMMOS MVBAA KPGVV WXOVM YKZPL LUL

We would take:
WBBMC HGFIB LXCQY WEZFL ITHPJ LFHWY ETKWY LJOTY YNGYJ BIOGI FUVMR
XIHGU RAGXH NQHRS XAWJU FJTAM SMMOS MVBAA KPGVV WXOVM YKZPL LUL

To make: HGFIB WEZFL LFHWY LJOTY BIOGI
XIHGU NQHRS FJTAM MVBAA WXOVM LUL

Bit of a random thought, how about performing a riffle-shuffle on the std motor card deck order 7 times (if i recall correctly, 8 riffles brings it back to it's original order, although I think that's for a 52 card rather than a 54 card deck, so not of use here...)

"Evens" could be every other letter too. But every other letter seems to me, however, to be be a bit too messy and complicated to possibly be part of the solution.

Or how about every 7th block of text. There are 21 blocks + 3 left over. Starting with #7, 14, and 21, you get:

ETKWYNQHRSYKXPL

Which doesn't seem that exciting, though when I saw the KWY, Kiteway came to mind.

I also tried ROT-1 - ROT-25 on those letters with nothing interesting appearing

As mentioned previously, I ran the even characters of ciphertext through all my standard deck orders and no luck.

I ran the even BLOCKS of cipher text through all my standard deck orders with no success.

I ran 7x rifle shuffle through all my standard deck orders (which includes 4 versions of Motor) and then de-solitaired the 108 ciphertext... no joy. BTW, my rifle chooses the bottom of the cut deck before the bottom of the original deck.

I just experimented and found that exactly 20 rifles brings the deck order back to the start in a 54-card deck.
