If I'm right, this makes what P is doing even MORE important. Keep finding those clues, friends, and I'll keep trying to help.
Until next time.
Interesting. The Speaker has helped us with other clues before, correct? I guess I need to pay more attention to his/her posts.

Looking over his posts, I get the feeling that the Speaker is actually an in-game character. There's a part where he mentions that "tricking Hanso isn't easy" in relation to getting copies of Bad Twin to Austraila for the Lost Ninja contest, and now this, where he says that the Lost TV show itself may be real. He also refers to Persephone as "P," which seems a bit more familiar then most of us feel with her. Could he be doing something else, too, like maybe hacking the Hanso site ?

After finally watching the Huge interview on youtube, I don't think what the speaker is telling is that far fetched at all.
For starters, it wasn't even Huge McInytre.
I strongly believe that what happens on the show is "in-game" in relationship to what's happening. There have been a few connections to game related material and show material already.

I've no doubt that Speaker is in-game. If you e-mail him with a question and mention "the game," you'll get a reply back from him that says, "Game?"

I'm just glad they didn't go with the idea of haveing Lost totaly separated from the ARG.

As far as the show being In-Game or not, the map certainly shares some overlap with clues given in the game. I hope saying that isn't considered a spoiler. If you've seen the episode I'm referencing, you'll know what I'm taking about. If you haven't, then you won't.

Yesterday Speaker threw everyone for a loop when he said, "Many people took Hugh's words as fact even though he lied with almost every other breath he took on that broadcast. Me, I'm more and more convinced that 'LOST' is, in fact, real."
How can Lost be based on true events if those events hadn't yet happened?
Oceanic Flight 815 went down on 9/22/04.
The television show Lost first aired on 9/22/04.
How can the producers and writers of a television show have a foreknowledge of such events?
When I asked Speaker about this, he referred me to a post that says:
Quote:
I think this is gonna take some suspension of disbelief. Pretending the show did NOT premiere the same day as the plane crash....pretending the plane crashed on Sept 22 2004 while the show premiered say . . . a year later.

The whole thing feels pointless now that I realized that ABC wants me to pretend their continuity error didn't happen.

Well, although we know the planed crashed on Sept 22nd, 2004, we do not know what time zone it crashed in.
or, to be precise:
Spoiler, Season 2 finale:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We do not know what time zone the computer in the swan station is operating in, as the first absolute confirmation we have of the date came from the printout of the computer. It had not only a date and year, but a time, which I beleive was around 1:30pm.
If they took off from Australia on the morning of Sept 22nd, local time, and crashed that afternoon, that would actually be the evening of Sept 21st on the East Coast of the US. That gives TPTB almost 24 hours to transmit their lives to our television sets. As time went by, this lapse grew longer, as time in the show universe goes much more slowly than time in the viewer's universe.

Well, in terms of disbelief, who are we to say the events of the show are based true events, when in fact that could be representing events that are taking currently taking place?
Take for example The Beast. You were playing the game in terms of events that were taking place on the day they were played. But in reality of what was going on, then events were taking place several years in the future.
EDITTED to add : Basically what was sorta said above. Sorry SpiralBond.

Or perhaps Oceanic 815 crashed, but it wasn't what went to the Island, but something else did?

Who'se to say.
But for all you nae sayers that think the ARG and the Show have no connection at all, this is proving to less and less true.
He's definitely on the watch list

Any experienced AGRer could tell you you need to suspend your disbelief for any ARG. But to me the issue is more the speaker himself. He's really not adding anything useful and is just stirring up trouble.
As I said last night in IRC: It's like The Speaker is bored with the game, and so is creating his own games to play.

the speaker seems to confuse everything cause it all made perfect sense before and if we are to take what the speaker says as fact well that screws up the entire hugh interview and a lost tv show should have never been mentioned.

If they make 'Lost' in-game, that's gonna mess everything up for places like the UK and Australia who haven't seen all the episodes, and that's seriously not fair.
*refrains from angry rant directed at abc*
