I was, like most people here, able to fold the crane and have "CLOUD" "MAKER" appear under the wings. Unfortunately, my copy machine ink rubs off when making sharp creases. Would it be against Mind Candy's policy to request a detailed scan of the middle square of the card so I can print it and fold a colored crane? (my copier is black and white only and I dont have a scanner myself)

On another note, I was looking at the background behind the text and at first glance, it reminded me of those 3D images you look at through 3D glasses. Has anyone slapped on a pair of 3D glasses (with the one blue and one red lense) and looked at the card?

Feeling kind of stupid that I didn't think to scan and print a copy of the card.... I just got my scissors out and started cutting. I was just realising how hard it was to fold the card, when I noticed that I had cut up the instructions on the back too, and had to unfold after every step to see what to do next.

Sometimes I'm a right muppet.

Ah well. I got the solve eventually.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but not to the PC thing. I noticed that this one wasn't marked 'solved - and it's actually one that I got just through looking at it - no cutting involved!!

answer is:

[Cloudmaker]

However, I do agree that the 'middle' text could go some way to solving the mystery of WHO stole the cube. That is why we put ourselves through this torture innit??!?

This forum is crucial to solving some of the puzzles - but I appeal to your curious, unchallenged, needy souls - and urge you to take a day or a week or whatever, to solve them yourself - it is so rewarding when you do, (especially to people like me; nobody appreciates your achievements more than you!!)

Can someone tell me how to mark this as solved?
Edit!!! Bloody Hell - someone help me shrink Uma!!! Yes, I have had a beer - and yes, I probably shouldn't be attempting technical *hit, but help!!

Welcome Starbird, to answer your question, only one of the Admins can change the topic of a thread to add the [SOLVED] tag. Could you add the initial
tag to the front end of your own solve though please? Wink

I think, to respond to your other comments, on attempting to solve the cards ourselves, before resorting to running to the forums, is a perfectly valid one - however, I believe that you're probably preaching to the converted for the main part. Most people here *will* do that, challenge themselves, stretch their brains and attempt to solve the cards - the rest, well, they'll simply beg, borrow, steal or perhaps even buy their cards, charge to the forums, allow the rest of us to solve the cards and then rise to the pinnacle of the leaderboard off the efforts of others. Thankfully, the number of bottom-feeders in the UnFiction pond is relatively small, and can be ignored.

I have no idea what you're talking about with Uma....erm, Thurman? I'm not sure why you want to shrink her though, she looks pretty good at regular size.

J

i have copied and cut out the square and made it into a crane, and the large text on the side makes a word, backwards, but i cant get it to fold properly so I cant see it when I hold it in front of a mirror, will try to enlarge the image and have another go Smile

Has anybody noticed that the picture on perplexcity.com (see http://www.perplexcity.com/cards/view.qbuild?card=155 ) has a large blank space in the middle where our cards are blue in the background?

I only ask because other cards with unexplained things on them tend to show up more clearly on their site (e.g the UV bit on "You are Cordially Invited").

It does not seem to be related to the solving of this card anyway.

a Japanese belief of making 1000 cranes will bring either/or happiness, good fortune, luck, etc... to thier lives. I don't know if it pertains to anything or not. Has anyone solved this one with the right answer?

I just got this card today and wanted to warn anyone trying to do it on their own. Don't try it with the card! I got about half way (enough to see the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Cloudmaker on the wing sides
but it just turned into a ripped puddle of mess. So now I have a half finished miniture crane and no card to put in my folder.

And that's my public service annoucement for the day.

Most people know not to use the card for this one since you can't fold it that hard. Just make a copy of it than cut on the dotted line.
