Well, mine is up at YouTube now. It was a hell of a ride - doing something like this in the middle of finals is just stupid, so I did it anyway Smile

Yours is epic! No wonder it was a stress to get it finished.

You can watch mine in return: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibt6djIZ4bE

MC's views on The Great Refreshing War of 2006:

Hi everyone,

First of all, congratulations to everyone who's uploaded a video - we've been blown away by the quantity and quality of the competition entries, and it's fantastic to see that you've had a lot of fun creating the videos. Fun is what we're all about, and with that in mind, we'd like address some of your concerns regarding the rules.

As we've previously mentioned, the overall winner of the competition will be the creator of the Most Viewed video. Now, we know this number isn't perfectly representative of the "best" video, but instead we hope that it adds a whole new dimension to the competition. Not only have you faced the challenge of creating your video, but also finding ways of getting people to watch it. We've been really impressed with some of your ideas, and hey, we even got Slashdotted! Pretty cool, no?

Alas, we can't deny that it's pretty easy to cheat at this competition. However, we hope - and expect - that all our entrants will conduct themselves in an honourable, sportsmanlike, and dare we say Perplexian manner (conspiracy and murder aside). We encourage you all to send your video to friends and enemies, post it on your Myspace profile or website, email it to fellow players and convince A-List web celebs to feature your video.

But spamming thousands of innocent bystanders and continually hitting refresh on your video is, I think we all agree, totally uncool.

(While we can't check to see if all views of a video are valid, we like to think this gives would-be voteriggers the opportunity to wallow alone in their own guilt and self-loathing.)

And in conclusion, we can only reiterate a point from our webpage: "Runners-up (and entries Mind Candy thinks are terrific) will also be showered with trinkets, at Mind Candy's discretion. The top ten videos will be awarded bonus Perplex Points."

One week to go - good luck!

Mind Candy

A new entry to watch

My rather 'late' entry into the perplexcity video contest is now up, well better late than never!

reasons to watch it:

1) by now you must have watched the others so many times it will be nice to see something different

2) you can see what i look like!

3) you can laugh at my accent (my friends all say it's too posh!)

4)the camera work is interesting..... Embarassed (a good laugh)

and 5) because i would appreciate it Very Happy

Not me I'm afraid. I'm Thomas Worrall, 3rd year psychologist. Sounds a cool idea though!
