Purchase from Superhero Gameland?

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has tried to order / purchase anything (Perplex City or otherwise) from this US-based online store? Their prices are significantly lower than the other stores, but they have almost no content to back up what they are selling (descriptions, etc).

I am a little leary to put in an order with this company, so I wanted an opinion or two if anyone had tried them out.

I don't know how reliable that site is.

I actually purchased cards from www.gameoutfitter.com

Their prices are good and one of the packs I got was a 0.5 release pack. They are reliable. The only way to contact customer service with them is through e-mail, but I always get a reply back within a few hours.

This is the best place and price so far that I have found in the US for cards.

I gave your advice a try, Aryeah, and I am very displeased with Gameoutfitter.

I put in an order on Thursday, and the cards have not shipped as of today. I also sent an email asking for a status update, and they have given no reply in the past 24 hours.

If I hear nothing from them in the next 24 hours, I will call to cancel my order and put them on my "blacklist" of retailers not to purchase.

This is what I was worried about with Superhero Gameland, yet it unfortunately happened with another online mom and pop shop. Bad recommendation!

Do you work for them?

I'm sorry that you are having a bad experience with gameoutfitter.

I actually don't work for them.

I ordered an original starter kit and some extra packs of cards from them. I ordered the cards on a wednesday may 31st and then e-mailed them on thursday June 1st to see when my order would be shipped. I got 2 replies back. One to check on my order and another the same day that had my ups tracking number in it and my shipping details.

This last week I ordered from coolstuffinc, (based in florida) www.coolstuffinc.com and I've had no problems with them as well. They have good prices on cards as well, but don't have that many in stock. They shipped the same day.

Coolstuffinc has a phone number you can call 1-407-478-3766. I called it and got the person who actually packed my order.

My experience was good with both places.

Update

I did receive a response from Gamoutfitter yesterday, which was a little over 24 hours after I sent my email.

It looks like they are having "stock" issues as well, similar to your comments regarding coolstuffinc, Aryeah. They appear to be out of card packs and are waiting for a new shipment to arrive.

I am happy that they responded with an apologetic email and an explanation for the delay, but there should have been some upfront notification to the customer. I should have been warned that they were out of stock and provided with a new estimated ship date.

My earlier criticism may have been a little harsh. After purchasing from massive stores such as Amazon and Buy.com, my expectations may have become too high for the smaller retailers.

I hope they ship soon because I want some cards to solve.

Well, you could always register on perplexcitytrades.com and try to make some deals ...

I tend to think of trading as giving card(s) in exchange for different card(s). This means I would need to (1) have cards and (2) know which cards I specifically want. I definitely don't know (2) as I have only solved online puzzle cards.

As for (1), I really have no bargaining chips besides my good looks and exceptional talents...

Ah, missed that tidbit. For future reference, I've gone through ThinkGeek.com (fast delivery, but seem to be out of stock quite a bit (have cards in stock currently)), All-Star Trading Cards (fast delivery, but a bit disorganized), and tried to go through Potomac Outfitters (only do bulk delivery, minimum $125 purchase Raspberry).

Beyond that, I've traded and done the eBay route.

EDIT: I'm not an employee of any of these companies, nor a relative. Just talking about my experience in getting cards in the US.

Note that notwithstanding whopping big minimum order at Potomac Outfitters, you get many many more packs because of their per-pack price! Find a friend to go in with...
