When I started this game I used "black pearl" as the secret code and got in and also received email with next clue. Then I went to Volvo dealer and picked up the map. It has a secret code on it, (all the maps had different codes) does that mean I will not qualify, does anybody know??

Yes, you will not be able to qualify unless you have the map with the unique code that you used to register. My advice is to reregister using the new code with a different email.

Aye Mates Everyone's eyes are on the present quest for the clues. I too have been focused at the challenge at hand.
Consider this for a brief moment my friends. Volvo has partnered with Disney on this great treasure hunt--this adds additional significance to the location of the buried treasure. The folks putting this all together have ensured we are focused on solving the clues then give us a break to clear our minds.
The Volvo is promoting the movie "Dead Man's Chest". Consider a few things and ponder a few thoughts:
1. 15 men on a dead man's chest, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
2. Consider for a moment the original story of the Dead Man's Chest.
3. Consider the history of Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard.
4. Consider the heart of pirate activity and you may find the burial location.
5. Consider honing in on somewhere in the US Virgin Islands.
Just a few things to ponder

meggan : yes that means you cannot qualify for the finale. You need a real map to be able to enter the finale. Interesting how you entered "black pearl" since it the japanese pw. Not very smart.

The clue you get in your email for the first bit is in this thread.
You can use that to play the game, but remember you will not be able to qualify for the prize.

Secret Pirate Code I recently picked up a Secret Pirate Code treasure map at a volvo dealership. I began to compete in "The Hunt" and am concerned that my Secret Pirate Code doesn't match that of the one that might have been inputed as I began to compete. I do believe that I clicked on a link which didn't require me to input my exact Secret Pirate Code. I would like to know if I must have them match. Thank you for your time.

So, when you entered the code , and then entered your name, address, email, etc..., you believe you entered a different code than what you have on your map?

My only question is that I wasn't required to enter a Secrect Code word to register should I re-register? or what?

Good point... I think maybe you can only have a chance to win if you have a secret code, or if you have one then it keeps track of what you've done... Have you been able to bookmark the locations? How far are you?

I've been waiting for the 21st and I'm getting the e-mails they are slow at coming in like I can get my clues on the Website before I get my e-mail I'm able to bookmark my progress, everything is acting normal according to how the rules state that the game is supposed to progress except for the fact that I was not able to input my secret code.
Karnaj
EDIT: I think I'm going to have to re-register with a different e-mail because looking it's requiring the secret code to register you have to have a copy of the map or the original map to send in. Bummer
