Can we somehow figure out at precisely what dates that each item disappears from his desk? That's about the only thing that might be a clue, and with so much involved there has to be a clue involved here.

Watching the two outside cameras (I watched them without clicking into late October, 2004) it appeared as though the shadows were present at the same time as in the same person(s) shadow(s) captured at the same time by both cameras. I thought there may have a few dates in June that only the first camera caught shadows, but I probably wasn't looking at both when it seemed like that. It did seem like sometimes it was one person, and other times it was two persons, but as far as I could tell the shadows occured every day.

In case anyone had trouble reading the opening letter or wants to examine it further, here's the text...

Quote:
Senior Hanso,

It occurs to me, at this point, I am attempting to correspond with a phantom. Had I not personally
attended to you three months prior, I too would doubt your existence – the worldwide promi-
nence of your name notwithstanding.

The letters I sent to your business address were returned with notes explaining your office does
not accept unsolicited correspondence. The follow-up I sent to your
Novik Villa was returned with a postal mark claiming "no such addressee." I feel compelled,
however, to attempt a final letter -- I hired an investigator to track you down. It is not that I do not
respect your desire for personal privacy, S. Hanso; It is that your condition gives me cause for con-
cern.

You will, no doubt, recall you were admitted after collapsing with a myocardial infection while in
Madrid. You were admitted, in a state of mild delirium, by the staff of the hotel in which you were
a guest (though the hotel later claimed to have no record of your stay).

At the point which I began treating you, you demanded no blood be drawn. Several hours later,
you requested I release you into the care of your personal physician, who had that moment arrived
with your staff. Against my strenuous recommendation, you had yourself discharged.

The reason I write is to explain why, against your wishes, I did, in fact, draw your blood. At the
time, I believed it prudent to obtain all information. Your disorientation allowed me to obtain the
sample and seemed proof of your incapacity.

But now, the results of your blood have prompted me to embark on this wild goose chase. It is
imperative I reach you – your test results are most unusual, and I have reason for concern you
may suffer a serious, even fatal, heart attack in the near future.

Futile as it seems, S. Hanso, I feel bound by the oath I took as a physician to inform you of your
circumstance. And, further (please forgive the personal nature of this confession), I feel as though
something is amiss. On more than one occasion, gentlemen have made inquiries into your hospital
stay. It seems your Madrid episode is among only a handful of times, in recent years, that you
have made documented contract with the world at large. And while I anticipate that this letter, too,
will be returned unopened, I feel you are owed at least the effort of my attempt.

Hoping this finds you (well),

Eliza Vasquez, M.D.

Have you been able to do this? I just tried to see if I try and answer my own question from above (that is, when do the various desk items disappear), but now when I enter "recluse" it says "password incorrect."

Also, I just noticed this from the opening introduction. As the Asian girl is talking and saying you can go "here" to see what they're working on, it shows a graphic of the main sidebar (starting with homepage on down). Well, on the site the last item is "Television Ad," but on her intro that link is followed by a final item which reads "Contact."

Probably because after entering the site with the different subdomain you didn't log in at the newsletter page. (The cookies from each subdomain seem to be treated as completely different and it won't acknowledge that you have ever been to the site before if you use a subdomain that is new.)

That has been that was since day one.

I'm sure you're right that it's always been there. I just hadn't noticed it or seen it mentioned before.

Does this remind anyone of Bad Twin, specifically Zander Widmore? More links between novel, ARG and TV show?

It could just be coincidence, but Zander is a rather unusual name.

Apologies if this is trout, but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere else.

Well I mentioned this briefly here...

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=248269#248269

and here...

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=248678#248678

but I'm wondering the same thing as to why this extremely obvious connection isn't being brought up and discussed more.

I'm back to this question, and am still wondering if anyone has successfully made it back to the site in order to at least try and figure out precisely when each item was removed from the desk. I went in using a subdomain and went through the whole process. But there were three areas it wouldn't let me into. That is, Hugh MnIntyre's page, the microfiche brought up when you click on the word "miracle," and finally this page when you click on the word "mortality."

From past discussion regarding the McIntre page I recall talk that you had to go in on the www.tfg.org website as opposed to any subdomain, and that may be the case as well for the "miracle" hack because I've had trouble getting on there before as well. Everything else works except for these three areas.

So again, has anyone actually got back on to this hack with the stationary cameras recording 24-7 for several straight years? Or are you guys just thinking you can? My hunch is that it too will only let you onto it from the main www.thf.org domain, but will block any attempt to use a subdomain. In other words, we each only get one shot to properly figure out the clues from the cameras. If you didn't get it, you won't.

If someone is going there for the first time, my thinking is too carefully take note of the items on the desk. And then when each time you fastforward and it stops, jot down the date along with what item is missing. Make sure each fastforward counts.

Try deleting the flash cookies: [INFO] Flash cookies

Also for reasons the passwords won't work see my walkthrough (skip to the "The McIntyre update" part)

I took a picture of each of the fast forwards and their date.

Matt, your first image links to May 20th, not 28th. If you look at the date, although it looks like 28, the 2004 shows that the style of 0 has a dot in the centre. (Unless of course it's 28th May 2884... GASP!)

Can we somehow figure out at precisely what dates that each item disappears from his desk? That's about the only thing that might be a clue, and with so much involved there has to be a clue involved here.

What about:

A few things to note:

The dates are completely random, if you look in the flash you'll see they are randomly picked. You can see in the screenshots the days on the months skip around. With this they are telling us the specific dates are not important, rather the idea of fast forwarding and showing that things were disappearing over time and that his parking spot was not to account for over numerous years.

For the record...

... here's the full image of the letter to Hanso as well.

Sadly, the text that's obscured by all the console windows near the end of this hack seems to either be filler (or typing practice):"adasda". Ah well.

site TOTALLY not available

From reading through all the boards it seemed as though the Hanso site "shut down" when each user got through the "recluse" hack. So I finally went over on my lunch hour to take a look, but its totally closed down and no way in. Even the direct link to the flash doesn't work. Sounds like it was an awesome hack, I am pretty bummed I can't check it out for myself.

I've got to stop having a life outside of this game so I don't miss any more updates!

Thanks matt. I'm not sure what clue is meant to be found here, but it certainly seems like something is being suggested as a clue. If not the dates themselves per the spec that they are totally random, then perhaps by the items being taken and possibly even in the order they are taken. I'm keeping in mind how the term "recluse" was recently discovered. My point in all of this is how this was one of the their biggest hacks yet, and really we have no clues resulting from it. I have to think they're giving us a clue here, but we just haven't found it yet. Your research may end up being the key.
