Spoiler (Rollover to View):
simple text does no justice to the level of aggrivation that I am trying to convey to you right now. I think that the amber fowl might have something to do with the Avian flu...and it brings me to some Chinese family, but I can't find a name no matter how hard I try, this 31 year old chinese father. ARG!
brain...hurts... Why zombies so smart?

Here's what I have so far...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a muddled "amber stork" means to anagram "amber stork" to "bram stoker"...so who was first infected by bram stoker? I don't know the answer to that question unfortunately.

Dotty:

it was surprisingly easy. Once I saw

it came to me rather quickly.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Bram Stoker didn't infect anyone. he did however write about (and create) someone who's infected just about everyone. that character is who we need.

now on to Base Pairs.

I think "invented by" rather than "infected by" would make a lot more sense and would have given me the correct answer much quicker. Maybe it's a typo...oh well.

Base Pairs

In regards to Base Pairs,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have searched random pieces of the code and it is pieces of Human DNA,
but I can't figure out what it is trying to say. Any ideas? Magus got it in the first 5 minutes and no one has cracked it since. [/spoiler]

I'm a bit ticked, because i got it right the first time, only i didn't the name was too long so to speak.... so i dropped part of it and got it the second time. personally, i would think the full thing would be in the answer bank... BAH!

You were the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
31st
to complete it.

On to base pairs.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
are we looking for the missing pieces of the sequence?
is this at the end of what we were given? or does it fall into one (or both) of the line breaks.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a friend reminded me that certain pieces of dna have to be followed by other specific pieces.

am I looking too far into this? either way I'm calling it quits for the night. this one has givin me a headache.

good job Plectrum & Murdoch, I'd say this one is the most complicated quest since Abandonment.

Okay, I'm stuck on Anachronism and Editorial Inspiration.

If someone could give me clues for these that aren't too obtuse (I have no idea what Wessex has to do with weapons, as technically Wessex doesn't even exist!), I'd be most grateful!

Now It's Personal:

Hey Zhahen, thanks for the tip.
How did you calculate it, though?

Here's how to calculate it:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Let 1 = zombie, 0 = not zombie. There are 4 total possibilities: 11, 10, 01, 00. But one of the bob's is a zombie. So there are only 3 possibilities left (00 is out). Only one of the 3 is 11.

Macavity: are you, perchance, a redhead from Philadelphia?

Anachronism is stupid.
The answer is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the capital of the region

When you look it up, you'll see that it's the name of
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the maker of a boomstick - not a broomstick

Editorial inspiration is a simple

How about Base Pairs - completely dense on this one (while I'm sure you all think I'm just plain dense)

Anyone made it anywhere on that one?

Why is it stupid? I'm the first to admit it's not my best, but I wouldn't have submitted it if I thought it was stupid.

It has nothing to do with Aethelred the unready, and little to do with the region. There were more red herrings than clues.

In addition, the answer should have been the inventor of the thing, and not just the company that made it.
