[VIDEO] www.broadbandstories.com "Ultimate Journey"

check out the 'Ultimate Journey' story that looks like it's going to be about a motorcycle trip. Rachel is reporting on Mittelwerk's day.

edit: I've watched it through a few times now: it is interesting, but nothing specific is jumping out, tripping my wires, that might lead me to any conclusions...

Yeah, this video is also what the ROTs are referencing in their newest thread.

Could mel0drama be one of the ROTs?

I agree with Lucy that nothing in particular jumps out about the video - I looked up the allied copenhagen merchant marines and got nothing special.

Anyone else have any leads?

I checked out alliedcopenhagenmarinemerchnats.com, but it says it's under construction. Dunno if anything'll appear there... It's the clearest indication in the video of what might be to come...

I'd recommend that someone with the capabilities make a record of this, as I have a hunch it will disappear.

Also, now we've got a riddle to solve, and it looks like the answer can be dropped off at Rachel's blog.

Just googled "Allied Copenhagen Marine Merchants" and there are no meaningful hits right now. Neither are they advertising on Monster.com that I saw by doing a job search (so much for having her apply for a job).

Indications from ROT seem to be that it's only up for 48 hours, so I agree that someone should capture it if possible.

I made a copy of the video in case it disappears. Uploading soon.

Cool.

So, anybody know who the heck the "dodgy looking guy" is and how we can use him to get Rachel in? It would seem that a lot of documents are being transported from or to somewhere. Might the doc we saw in Mittelwerk's piece have any relevance? I've no idea how, but maybe?

On a meta note, this reminds me somewhat of the Statue of Liberty incident from The Beast, the more I think of it.

Edit: Never mind about this. I see by her blog (which I'd not checked recently) that she's already done what she had to to get into the archive.

Thanks, matt_the_pale, for uploading a copy. This should come in useful if the ROTs take the video down.

I know this post looks useless right now, but it said something before which I then edited out.

video 2: edits

I was watching the broadband stories video again and there is one edit that stands out to me - when Rachel comes back to the car and offers us pizza. For the line "I went in claiming someone had ordered a pizza" the video and audio match up, but right after there is an obvious video edit where what Rachel is mouthing does not seem to match the continuing audio "and then the receptionist went through this door labeled archive". At around the word archive, the video and audio obviously match up again. Any lip readers out there who can take a look and help? I am famously bad at lip reading, as any who has mouthed "lets go" to me at a boring party knows.

Both videos now the editing is messed up and they mention it on ROT. must be signifigant. I doubt shes smart enough to hack these sites but not to edit video.

I'm tempted to ask my sister's mother-in-law who, as a deaf woman, reads lips fluently. You can talk to her from across the room, and she understands you perfectly. She watches TV and knows what they're saying without subtitles as long as their lips are in view. But I haven't talked to her in years. Let me know if you guys think this is something that needs to be done, and I'll send her an email asking her to type out what the girl is saying. The tough part would be explaining why I'm asking this, while saying "hi" after so many years.

From what I can tell, it just looks like the timing is off a tad and she's mouthing the same thing only with a delay.

There is a point in the video that speeds up before she goes into the building. Can anyone slow it down and include that in the list of things to lip-read?

I also watched the DJ Dan video. Gotta love the Serenity reference, "Can't stop the Signal!"

I guess the 48 hours is up...

Rachel's video has been taken down off of "Ultimate Journey" at broadbandstories.com.
