She should slip something in his drink, take him back to her place, tie him up to a chair, slap him around a bit, cut his balls off, then see if he's willing to talk.
Hey, it worked for me.

Double standards? or just bitterness? Either way I find it pretty disturbing.

That's a fair point, we hardly have a whiter than white record throughout this game. We've had no qualms about our methods before so why now? It's probably because nothing's been happening for ages that we're even bothering debating this issue at all. We're bored and up for a scrap. In previous, busier times we'd doubtless have been suggesting to her to wear something saucy and revealing as well as just putting on a dab of perfume. I suppose this at least made an interesting gender-based debate.

Oh and, given that Anna has a personal history with Henrik and has already volunteered and made an arrangement to meet him, why would we send Caine?

This, though, is the killer point - Anna's already set up the date and is going, so fruitless to interfere now. We've just got to help her work out what to say.

'splains a lot.

'vice is ever most dangerous when hidden behind the mask of virtue' the reason she's doing this is cos she *wants* to get back in (bed) with Henrik.

Oh let's calm down. Duckie is more or less right. More or less. All we've been doing ever with these people is sending them off to do our bidding. We've nearly gotten Kurt killed several times, and *now* we're going to start looking fFor a moral high road? Bah!

Actually, I was more responding to duckie's cavalier response as to why I thought this was tasteless and poor. The reasons of "most satisfying" and "generally deserved" to "drop him a small, whimpering heap" kind of ticked me off.

If you go back and read my original message, you'll note my main point was Anna was being a hypocrite. She spent the first third of her message to us saying how bad she felt for the way she treated Henrik after they dated. Then, she went with the perfume. It just struck me as jarring that after all her hand-wringing, she went right to the arsenal to entice instead of just asking for help.

Perhaps, I'm overreacting (quite possibly). I'll concede the bitterness angle, mainly because I've been played like this (I didn't end up whimpering, but it did hurt). However, while I create a lot of (meaningless?) chatter, do recall that I've only been playing for a month and some change. I was never involved with sending Kurt into danger that he did not go into first (Miranoline). So, I guess I have not been tested enough yet to understand the decisions made at the various times.

I left off the police report thing as one of the major incidents because I figured I'd let someone else point out that it was at Anna's instigation (she felt it was necessary to prove that Isaac's death wasn't a suicide and she ignored the consequences until after the fact). Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times? That's purposeful intent.

What's done is done. *shrugs* I guess she should ask herself if she's willing to pay the potential cost of the loss of her family in order to find out about the Reynolds Ionizer. If not, she should stick to a more business route. Just the appearance of cheating (even if it was an innocent interaction) can wreck relationships.

All I was saying is that the angle is naturally there; we don't need to play it up, since it's already working in our favor. The only reason I really don't want to go about with too much emphasis on their old relationship is that we want this to begin and end as we need it; we re-light old flames, and suddenly he keeps pursuing her, or he gets crushed again. Just because we have a death warrant streak doesn't mean we have to keep it going.

Never did I say Anna was a harlot (except in humorous hyperbole); people were just very excited for her to take a romantic tact. Perfume is just perfume, and that's my entire point: it signifies nothing, or at least nothing definite. She'll take that course as much as she wants to, but we need an acutal plan first.

As to the over-arching gender debate that's controlling this: no comment, on the account that I prefer to not undergo castration. Very Happy

Of course, if Perplexed is right and she wants to go about it that way herself, then nothing I can do except grab some popcorn and let our little soap opera here run its course. Wink

OK THEN!
So, what's Anna security problem going to be?
You know, the thing we need by Friday?

We have my mediocre creepy-message-leaving, something involving Fleming at home (not like that... how am I supposed to win here?!), and that's about it.

My last words on this so far, brought to you by me and e_nygma:

That's why I think it would be best to keep this as a security problem. Let the past link act as a motivator, not the cause. It brings business forward, and if he's doing security work, security-related information will likely show itself more readily than if it was a matter of love.

Also, if love is the primary motivator, lots of possibilities for unintended consequences and snags. Stick with business.

*thumps desk*
Marvellous probe 10/10.

For what it's worth, I'm all for an innocent yet concerning stalker as the reason for the chat, but then swiftly followed by a more "innocent and breezy" (thanks Chris) chat about the whole security at the academy and whatnot. Sure it'll work if he feels like he's getting Anna's mind off the whole "I am being stalked" sinister-yet-made-up story.

I'm off to ponder the virtues of perfume in the underwear department of Debenhams.
(joke... btw... before you reach for the flamethrower)

Considering she puts on the perfume, but doesn't know what to say, I'd find it a stretch to call her a seductress. Given that, I'd hardly call the hand-writing insecurity in the introduction hypocritical.

I do like the stalker idea, especially knowing that given the nature of the Third Power, someone might try to put a tail on her in the future.

This is disgraceful surely? How do we countenance sending (married with kids) Anna in to flirt with this guy to pump him for information? Particularly as she's just preying on their previous relationship?..... we should set better examples of moral rectitude for them, shouldn't we?

I wish I'd never started this now. Sad

Honestly, you get home from the pub late, a bit tired and emotional from watching another lacklustre England display, and try to generate a bit of debate in this friendly game. Then what seems like seconds later I'm being accused of being radical terrorist cleric abu hamza. Sad

I shall certainly think twice before taking up my keyboard in the future.
