Well I can't understand Korean, but the sound of the salt shaker at the end presumably ruining the recording device is pretty funny...

EDIT: my bet is that some "helpful" commenter on her blog will provide the translation..

Translation from Mochi on Rachel's blog comments:

asian: How do you do?

middelwerk: How do you do, Doctor?

asian: Mister Paik says "hello".

middelwerk: I think paid a lot of money to you.

asian:Then can we talk about business?

middelwerk: Yes.

asian: Is the "satellite place" almost ready? "Someone" wants to know if the dish is ready, but if we're talking about business, we can't pay like this.

middelwerk: He have a port. How long will it take?

asian: 3 weeks.

middelwerk: Can you send a note? What can I do to make it 2 weeks?

That's what appears to be happening. Someone on her comments has a Korean girlfriend.

I haven't actually SEEN this, but this is what I've heard at another fourm.

Alternate translation from insidetheexperience:

Dr. Mittelwerk: "Minsu, it's nice to meet you."

Other guy: "Dr. Mittelwerk, it's nice to meet you too."

Dr. Mittelwerk: "Mr. Beck is sending his regards."

Other guy: "The reason he is sending me regards is that I had him pay a lot of money."

Dr. Mittelwerk: "Let's talk about business."

Other guy: "Yes, let's do it"

Dr. Mittelwerk: "You want to hear that the delivery service is almost ready. Speaking of the delivery service: we can't drop the delivery just anywhere."

Other guy: "But we have a harbor (for the delivery). How long will it take?"

Dr. Mittelwerk: "At least 3 weeks"

Other guy: "Can you pass me the black pepper. What will it take for you to get it delivered in TWO weeks?"

Yes, except that presumably "Beck" = "Paik"

Yet another translation, this one posted by someone called Kwon Young-Su. If he's as Korean as his name suggests, then this should be pretty accurate.

MITTELWERK: Minsu, so great to see you.

MINSU: Dr. Mittelwerk. Good to see you too. Mr. Paik sends his warmest regards.

MITTELWERK: He's just saying that because we've paid him so much money.

MINSU: Ah. I see that it's straight to business.

MITTELWERK: As always.

MINSU: I think you'll be pleased to hear your ship is almost ready; with all the modifications. But I have to warn you - this kind of ship can't dock just anywhere.

MITTELWERK: We have a port. How long will it be?

MINSU: I'd say no sooner than three weeks.

MITTELWERK: Could you pass the pepper? So what will it take to make it 2 weeks?

And Rachel seems to agree with you about the accuracy of that translation as she has just posted it to her blog.

This last translation would seem to be the most accurate. Of the three translations, the second one appears to have mixed up which one is Minsu and which one is Mittelwerk, but notice how it used the word "shipment." I have a hunch that the word "shipment" and the word "ship" is very similar, but if you know Korean please correct me here because I sure don't. But logically speaking, I doubt that Mittelwerk is interested in the "ship" itself. I believe the last translation to be rather accurate, but suspect that in his reply 2nd to last reply, Minsu is actually saying...

Quote:
MINSU: I think you'll be pleased to hear your [shipment] is almost ready, with all the modifications. But I have to warn you - this kind of ship can't dock just anywhere.

Can we try and clarify if the object of discussion is a "shipment" or the actual "ship" itself. This truly is key to understanding the entire dialogue because if they're merely talking about a "ship," that greatly limits the scope of what we're dealing with here.

Also, keep in mind that the first translation, while not at all deciphering the word correctly, ended up translating the first use of the word completely differently than the second use of the word. This suggests to me that the two instances where this word is used in this quote may be slightly different.

EDIT: Brackets placed around word "shipment" to indicate that I changed this from the originally posted translation.

About that. It's the strangest thing....take a look at that translation on Rachel's Blog...

That's right. It doesn't shay shipment. It says ship.

Seeing as an IN-GAME character edited the translation to say that, I'm assuming "Ship" is the correct version of that sentence.

Rachel didn't edit anything. Her log shows is the precise translation as posted above my reply. All she did was "copy and paste" onto her blog. I edited the word to "shipment" in my quote saying that I suspect that's what was really said in the audio. What does Rachel B. know about speaking Korean?

Nothing. But again, she's a in-game character, and the PMs do know what it's supposed to say. I doubt they'd post an inaccurate translation on an in-game blog.

I wasn't going by your post, I saw the same translation posted elsewhere with the word shipment in it. I can't remember where, but I remember that. Sorry.
