I think she was suggesting that there are other ways to end a sentence than with an exclamation point. Smile Not that we don't admire your enthusiasm.

pe·ri·od ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pîr-d) n.

A punctuation mark ( . ) indicating a full stop, placed at the end of declarative sentences and other statements thought to be complete, and after many abbreviations.

n : a punctuation mark (!) used after an exclamation

Overuse of exclamation marks is akin to being the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

There r other ways but this is the way I prefer 2 end a sentence!

It shows that I am excitable non-stop!

They don't call me party animal 4 nothin!

But seriously I think AmberJoy should keep her comments 2 herself and keep them constructive! I am help 2 help people not to tell people how they should place their grammar within a sentence!

Generally on this forum people strive to use English to its fullest potential. Meaning they don't say, "OMG hi 2 u 2!11!!" or the like. It's just one of those wacky Unfiction quirks. When in Rome...

I feel that I am being constructive. I gave you links and educational info to peruse and use at your own discretion. I never demanded for you to change the way you communicate.

I think u should sort ur life out! U r a parent after all and should be setting a good example!

As for the insertion from the dictionary wasn't funny at all!

If u r here to help others then help! If u r here to point out every1 else faults then good-bye!

BIGFATPARTYANIMAL:

The people in this thread are trying to tell you things nicely. Ad hominem attacks will not be welcome around here. Perhaps you should read for context rather than take immediate offense. I can guarantee you that any more personal attacks are likely to get you banned from the forum.

But precious, it hurts our eyeses.

Besides, then when you actually have a point you want to make with force, no one will be able to distinguish its relative level of importance.

Ultimately, of course, it's up to you. Smile But in the interest of getting along well with your fellow forum-users, you may want to at least consider their suggestions.

As 4 using English 2 its full potential I tend not 2 do that very much as I do not care 4 the language very much at all!

Secondly this is a fourm 2 help people about the game! Not to talk about English! If u want 2 do that open up a new discussion which I wont contribute 2!

Re: Hi ya!

Proper English also helps for those for whom Enlish is a second or third, not first language. Oftentimes, these people won't understand short forms, or 1337speak, or incorrect grammar. Now, we do allow bits of those. If say, ScrappyDoo says something funny, and i say lol or rofl, thats fine. But if someone were to write all their sentences like:
"Man i luv unfiction lol it is liek teh leetness"
That's hard to understand, especially for those who don't have a complete grasp on English.

EDIT: This is just a general comment on talking on the internet, not neccesarily related to anything PartyAnimal did or didn't do. Thank you. Smile
