Received today: Kissing Swallows

In large somewhat obscured letters on the side of the tiny tiny shirt (this will fit a really tall infant, I think): keep doing nothing

On the inside a symbolgram which sadly does not scan on the machine I have access to at the moment. It does have the same number of symbols as the letters in "Nothing to Hide" and the symbols are the same where the Os, Ns, Ts and Is would be so I'm guessing that's what it says. AND (now that I've checked) it's the same sample code as the edoc site uses to demonstrate how to find and solve shirt codes.

Sooooo. The real clue is printed on a piece of fabric sewn inside the tiny tiny pocket on the front of the shirt. Six letters. They appear to be written on eggs in a nest, which gives an indication of which way is up. Much smaller, hard to read, and also un-scannable at the moment. Two eggs on top, four on the bottom. (number them 1-6) Attaching crappy drawing of same. Replacing that with picture of puzzle AND a picture of the whole shirt - for a tiny tiny person with a loooong torso... (I knew it was XS when I ordered it, but wow).

Confusing. What I thought was an "N" (letter 6) is actually the mirror image of the N symbol. Sideways. So maybe it is a Z. (Hey, how many four or six letter words end in Z?)

The top two letters (letters 1 and 2) appear to be the same, although the one on the left may have the lower arc hitting the straight line offcenter to the left.

The symbols should have some vague relationship to the corresponding letter, which makes me think that either letter 3 or 5 may be a C.

If you could snag a picture of the inner hem and the pocket later, it would be awesome... Wink

Just sayin'.

Is this the NOTHING TO HIDE bit?

Looks like "AALIC?" to me... That's not a Z.

Hey, aliendial: check this. I have a hunch you'll get it with that.

EGo, I was looking at that before work intervened. I mentioned above that it's the same code. But it does not use the same letters. So put yer thinkin' hats on.

Also received today and getting less attention while I wait for Scrappy to get hers and join in the solvification: Flying Colors

Code inside is a series of circles/dots corresponding to numbers/letters of the alphabet.

Triple circle = 10, plus 4 dots = 14 = N
Triple Circle = 10, plus double circle = 5 = O
2 triple circles = 20 = T
double and three dots
double and four dots
triple and four dots
double and two dots.
etc etc

Sadly, I am afraid our message is hidden in the not-nearly-as-clear dots/circles/colors on the butterfly wings. Same message front and back, whatever it is. Gah! Our first job - figure out what configuration = a triple, double or dot.

Preliminarily guessing that each wing with dots is a letter. Some dots are not circled, but most are. A couple of the circled ones have an extra dash of color in the middle. I thought perhaps the plain circled ones = doubles, but this immediately falls apart as there are several wings with more than one of them (two doubles = 5+5 =10 which should be a triple circle). But if they are meant instead to be single dots, there's one wing with 5 of them, also an improper result in this code. Trying to distinguish by size runs into the same kind of problems.

I'll see if I can photograph tonight.

Almost any letter can be seen on Druggy. If you can cut and paste from there, that'd help.

Druggy.

Oh, and looking at Druggy, I remembered: that not-Z is an S.

Well I'm not happy cuz it's not a word, but here's one stab:

YR
LICS

The R may be an A. But the cross line doesn't seem low enough.
Maybe the Y is a K (not available on druggy but going on the resemblance thing)...

Then do we anagram?

Tried flipping it over just in case, but then several do not have matches at all, esp. the ones I think are Y and R.

edit: I keep adding new thoughts, so check back.

BINGO!

LYRICS
http://www.edoclaundry.com/nothingtohide3.asp

Two years and three months before the band dies.

Album cover for Poor Richard's album Declaration (nice antlers, dude).

Clip about how much the band's lyrics meant to one fan (Abigail says positive uplifting things in return).

Our narrator threatened to kill a man a week before he died?

edit: /me waits for her solve to go up on intellinuts....

Flying Colors

ok, my mind is boggled by Flying Colors. It's quite lovely, but holy moley, how to decipher the dots?!

Here's the inner hem code of "Nothing to Hide":

and then the butterflies go along the bottom of the shirt, circling the waist, though part of me thinks there's some repetition:

I think I've found a G and an H in the butterflies so far, but I'm going nuts picking out what are dots, what are bigger dots, and what are giant dots, and then what is just noise. Grrr.

I took pictures of each butterfly, and stuck them in the Flickr EDOC group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/edoc/pool/ and am adding notes as I think I get letters Razz

Feel free to help out in the annotation and that whole crazy solving thing.

Um. See, my camera had to recharge and I fell asleep and...
anyway, here's my flickr set of the nine butterflies that seem to have dots. I numbered them so the order would be clear. This means I did skip a couple butterflies with no apparent dots...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/91843126@N00/sets/72157594172846707/

As Scrappy and Shad0 have noted in their discussions of Scrappy's photos on flickr, there is a closeup of the Flying Colors design on the edoclaundry website that is very clear but not complete. It shows several of the butterfly dots as clear doubles and triples, and trust me they don't look like that on the actual shirts. Size does not count, only the numbers of colors in the dot. This will be tricky.

(I have added a picture of the LYRICS puzzle to replace my hand-drawn version above.)

Back to Flying Colors - is it possible the screen printing is incomplete? My butterflies are yellow, orange, brown, and white. The pictures on the edoc site, and esp. the closeup shot, have those colors but also clearly show blues, greens, purple and maybe a magenta. Perhaps critical information was never printed on the shirts?

Another oddity I don't know what to do with - the picture sample on the website has stuff in the background that you don't see in the other shirt images - blow it up. It looks sorta like cityscape...
