It sucks that they killed him off in the crash. The guy playing him is fantastic! How he pulls off campy nervousness and aShatner-esque halting way of speech, in a totally believable way, astounds me. Can't you see him running around with Jack and Sawyer, quipping about Hanso without even taking off that white blazer? Maybe he is one of the rumored middle sectionees?

i have a back up. pm me and ill send the link.
Myspace is back up.
EDIT: i copied the file to myspace. kinetic is my roleplaying profile. NOT IN GAME
This was found with a friend. He discovered some holes on the server and we worked together on the problem. Trust me I thought about posting it for a long time, but had to weigh the issues. He has been posting some pics, but basically we've just been trying to fish the PM's for feedback. We need to know if how we find this was in GAME.
This isnt a "clue" but rather an explanation of just one of the many reasons we suspect this might be in game.
The PM's tried to replicate unix directories but as alot of you have noticed, they haven't done the best of jobs. ( but close enough that they knew what they were doing ) Small errors made it seem like all of it was faked for the arg.
So when they recreated another unix directory. Why did use such a completely DIFFERENT file structure? Anyways ( and yes this is a stretch but it popped out to me )
GO HACK PUBLIC CGI-BIN FILES.
is in the names of those directories. This server is primarily a LAMP server. Everything is patched, but a ton of unneeded ports? can you guess the ONLY service they left wide open?
I've never played an ARG but been playing this since ACT 1 ( huge lost fan but now loving args ) . When i heard a hacker was the theme of the TLE I approached it from that angle.
It was buried deep within the pre-shutdown hanso site. Myspace videos are working again. So im still not sure.
If the PM's read this we have the server secured now. We cannot write to it, we can only read all of the vhosts. But no one else will be able to login.
EDIT: cybeRRunner said it was cool to post his nick here.. so there ya go he deserves much credit. very smart.

someone pointed out that PUBLIC wouldnt work in there because i had to use the C for HACK. So that makes it even more of a stretch of it being in game.

:: booktalk - gary troup - 7 of 9 transcript ::
<Troup> I'm an inveterate bachelor, I've never even considered coming close to getting married--until, you know, I started doing research for Bad Twin.
<Interviewer> Which Required lots of travel to Australia.
<Troup> Eight times actually.
(interviewer laughs)
<Troup> I'm sort've a research fanatic, and a lot of the book takes place down there, so...
<Interviewer> And of course your great love of deep-sea fishing in the great barrier reef had nothing to do with--
<Troup> Hey hey hey, that's research.
(interviewer laughs)
<Troup> Anyways, by either coincidence or fate there is this... incredible woman, Cindy , she's a flight attend--[CUT ]

That seemed both redundant and disappointing.
Maybe it's important that he went there 8 times.
