..surely there must be more than this?

That's not a criticism, just a 'wtf' thinger.

Has someone emailed our findings off to Caine and/or Kurt?

Where by our, I really mean your. Because the squares weren't brightly coloured enough to hold my attention for long. Wink

Bookmore found another:

Quote:
(Reference numbers here, I don't have them) DESCRIPTION: Physics/Baker Spherical Magnetic Containment field; interfaced with dedicated fibre network. Tested at 120% maximum tesla strength to ensure no field leakage.

Looks like there's still stuff in there, but nobody seems to understand how the file system is working yet... at least, nobody's been able to explain it to me Smile

I agree that this is all looking like the kit used to move the cube to Earth.

Almost definitely.

(OMG, it's a /sphere/.)

Could it be more-or-less random? You know, information released at particular times, as long as the basic form--

Wait, no. Never mind - my mind just ticked over three or four arguments against that suggestion.

"Look where it is now, thanks to Kiteway." Soon as Miroline said that, I was sure it wasn't the 3P that nicked it, it was Sente. Add in the old favourite, "We never touched it, it was already gone," and this latest batch of evidence, and I'm more and more convinced that Sente moved it himself. Whether his intentions were good (keep it out of teh sneaky 3P's hands) or bad (use Earth as a testing ground for his own personal cube-based apocalyptic weapon) I've no idea. Probably the latter. Then he set up the whole puzzle card thing to make it look like he was doing something, trusting to the utter incompetence and stupidity of us Earthies to ensure it was never found.

Reminds me very much of 'A murder is announced', where Miss Marple

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
realises that only the owner of the house could have been the murderer, because noone else could have arranged to have the central heating on instead of the fire.

(spoilerised for Christie fans who may not have read that one yet.)

A bunch of us were working on this in chat last night. We added our speculations/findings on how the puzzle works to the wiki's Talk page.

I used Zone Mount Run Flush --/-- -- Copy Switch Flush/ -- -- Pwrite Rotate Rotate/ -- -- End -- --

It was kinda weird because the screen goes screwy as if an interference signal messes up the picture then -

There appear to be several ways of getting these. Still trying to fill up as much of the grid as possible to see what I can get!

<jalapenodude> so it looks like the result is determined by the number of zones. It also looks like you need at least one rotate for it to work
<jalapenodude> summary of the zone thing:0 zones approached, 1 zone cameras, 2 zone lasers, 3 zones unable to get read handle, 4 zones approached, 5+ zones unable to reset open permissions
<jalapenodude> I'm fairly sure we've found all the messages anyway
<jalapenodude> given that it seems to repeat itself with increasing numbers of zones

Now, it looks like a wrench was thrown into that (see above) but that's what the feeling was last night when we folded up. Wink

A fully detailed description of what the commands do would be nice, now that we essentially have the idea. (See the 'directions' chat right here for what led us to get where we are.)

Judging by the way these conversations are going, I'm guessing these people are being watched under surveillance. It's kind of like how a computer system might record a voice conversation. Big Brother is watching-esque Discussing some kind of project but not saying anything in case they are heard? What could the project be? Bearing in mind it involves quite a few people in crypto.

As I'm sure others have noticed, these messages look to be in the same format as those uncovered way way back in 2004.

They can be seen on the wiki here
