skeleton

I know this has been said before, but with new information (guesses) we might have success.

THis is from: http://www.paranormaljournal.org/vol2_4.html
Quote:
The Minotaur in Fact and Fiction
J. Terrence Pendt, Julia Harper

This report examines evidence of the existence of a real-life minotaur, a hideously deformed child of King Minos 2. Recently discovered records indicate that Minos ordered the child locked away from sight in an underground chamber. Our hypothesis concludes that the child possibly suffered from elephantiasis and had horn-like growths near both ears, thus leading to the legend of a bull-headed man. A deformed partial skeleton unearthed in a subterranean chamber in Crete, the location of the legendary labyrinth, lends credence to this hypothesis.

This may have something to do with picture. I don't see any other relavance to a skeleton anywhere else.

Ah, I see the connection. Out of sequence - burning 'em before they fall Laughing but I'll go along with it for for the sake of International Relations Very Happy

i'd still like to know where the chess piece/cat/red queen theory came from.

It seems to be one of those things you either see or you don't (someone quoted the old lady/young lady picture as a reference).

Dispite Wedgegolds efforts - thanks by the way, All I see here is a chesspiece with a cat drawn on it. Sorry Embarassed

OK, this is one I did for the letters, but the red thing is quite clear.

I see most of a spherical shape with what looks like a stepped ring, not unlike the crown on a queen chesspiece.

I'm no poet, but you're no hacker

A slightly lateral thought about what we may find if we ever solve this thing: In Scratch's first message (carelessly.mic) he says:

Scratch wrote:
sorry i'm late
sorry i made you wait

your clues were annoying
what's with this thing?

i'm no poet
but you're no hacker

scritchety scratch

Who would he be addressing there other than Caesar? 'Your clues' must be Caesar's clues. If we maintain pronoun agreement, then 'I'm no poet but you're no hacker' should also refer to Caesar (otherwise Scratch is using 'you' very loosely).

Marl64 pointed out earlier that:
Marl64 wrote:
General thinking is that this whole message is towards Caesar. But caesar hasn't done anything even slighty poetic.

Maybe what the Oct. 1st paintover leads to is a poem Caesar selected for the occassion; something appropriately introductory to get the ball rolling for the tavernpointe hacker network.

I know that doesn't help us understand the meaning of the Oct. 1st image one whit. But it does provide at least a suggestion of what prize might await us.

I wouldn't be so sure, it gives us a new avenue to explore
A poem that ties all the components of the picture together. I don't recall the idea being mentioned so far.
Are there any poets in the house? Very Happy

Concidentally? the initials of Paint Over do form half of "poet" or "poem"
and so of course there's;

paintover.net

Very Happy

Puzzles like these are only Hard when you don't know the answer. The second picture was hard until we got it, now I can't see why we didn't get it sooner Very Happy

But if you found the new puzzle as hard you'd be no further forward.

I have friends that always buy the hint book when they buy a game so that they don't get stuck. I've always felt they were missing something, that "eureka" moment and feeling of satisfaction, of having achieved something.

OK, it's not exactly the same here. I'm resigned to the fact that other people will find the answers. I'm just content popping ideas into the hat in the hope that some small part may helps towards reaching the goal.

Yeah true...But I'm not one of those that looks at the back of the crossword puzzle to find the answer, I'm extremely stubborn, and like to think I'm clever enough to work something out, and usually I do...so I understand what you're saying, but dont think I'm someone that just wants an answer real quickly, coz im not...its just that I will admit, I have absolutely NO idea what the answer is, or could be, except for what ive said before (even that was a long shot) and it doesnt look like anyone else knows what it is fully either, and i cant see them getting it anytime soon...I just dont want for us all to be stuck on one bit for a long period of time, we all want to get futher, but we dont want to rush or cheat to do it...im just at a loss on this clue...but i certainly dont see a cat i can tell u that much lol

From www.gradesaver.com/ClassicNotes/Titles/ wonderland/essays/essay1.html
Quote:
Although Carroll succeeds in altering the content of Alice's new education, her systematic attempt to recall her schooling further indicates that her mind has become so conditioned to being told how to act and respond to situations, that it is unable to break out of this trap, even when the possibility presents itself. Just after Alice recalls, "When I used to read fairy tales, I fancied that this kind of thing never happened, and now here I am in the middle of one! There ought to be a book written about me," she realizes that "there's no room to grow up any more here" and concludes that this means that will always "have lessons to learn" The transition of Alice's thought from fantastic stories directly to lessons and books suggests that her imagination is never able to escape the confines of a instruction; she believes that as a child it is her duty to be concerned with schooling . She even self-imposes lessons as she "cross[es] her hands on her lap as if she were saying lessons and began to repeat it." (16). Perhaps Alice will achieve grown-up status when she has been so conditioned that the mantras of the educational systems become immediate responses. It is almost as if in projecting his conception of a nonsensical world, that the child, simply by being a product of what Carroll despises, namely a world of socially constructed regulations, forms an obstacle to escaping reality.

It all sounds very very familiar...
We must be overlooking something quite obvious.

Do we all believe the figure in the background is the robot B166ER?

if so, this has to have something to do with the whole getting bigger, and the possible anagram small to large.

It's a nice connection and I wish I could go along with it, but I don't and I explain why HERE and HERE
Plus technically it's out of game - even if you stick with the matrix theme;

If we are people in the matrix, the Story of B166ER would be unknown us.

If we are watching the creation of the Matrix, the Story wouldn't have happened yet.

In this pic you can see some of the layers very cleary. I also see the writing behind the elbow of the girl. Looks like ASK to me, but with the A partially hidden by her elbow.. Could this be the missing A? (FINDTHEA). What do you think?

So it's poem you want eh?

Chew on this
William Shakespeare wrote:
SONNET XXXI

Thy bosom is endeared with all ,
Which I by lacking have supposed dead,
And there reigns love and all love's loving parts,
And all those friends which I thought buried.
How many a holy and obsequious tear
Hath dear religious love stol'n from mine eye
As interest of the dead, which now appear
But things removed that hidden in thee lie!
Thou art the grave where buried love doth live,
Hung with the trophies of my lovers gone,
Who all their parts of me to thee did give;
That due of many now is thine alone:
Their images I loved I view in thee,
And thou, all they, hast all the all of me.
Wink

Yes, but that gives me so much more to think about. If it is b166er then that means the hackers know about him, they are familiar with the second ren... and not even Morpheus seemed to know the whole story. So, if our hackers know what b166er looks like then that would point to them a)all being programs, or B) in our world and having watched the Animatrix series just like us. But, if it were B, then that would mean they are in OUR world, not the world of the Matrix... but since Thomas Anderson is listed as being transferred, that would infer that the Alternate Reality isn't alternate.

Covering old ground

Way, way back in the thread that first examined this image, people were excited about how paintover.net is an anagram for tavern.pointe, which we also see on the page.

Elsewhere, NjWebGuy points out that
NjWebGuy wrote:
the iframe is named Poe, Edgar Allen Poe died in front of a Tavern and the site is A Tavern.Pointe Production.

Whether the name of the frame is referencing Poe (sometimes writer of rhyming verse), or naming the frame 'poe' means something else (poe-try? try-poe?), maybe there is something to that.
