In the video, Rachel says her instincts have been lying to her and then says..."it must be in my genes." So who has lied? Mittelwerk! I'd line this up under evidence of the personal nature of Rachel's quest...referring of course to the theory that Mittelwerk is Rachel's long lost father. Rachel also refers wistfully to her mother at the end of the video....all very interesting to me. Credit [someone] for the Mittelwerk:Rachel::Vader:Leia theory (and me for the oh so clever analogy).

[SPEC]Perhaps Rachel started working at Hanso to get closer to the man she thinks is her father, but then became disgusted by what she perceived to be shady dealings? If she thinks Mittelwerk is her papa, she would probably already resent him for not being around for her childhood - which would make her much more susceptible to seeing things in a bad light and going on a personal vendetta. Rachel may clue us in to some shady dealings at Hanso, but I've said before we need to beware her private agenda.[/SPEC]

Hugh McIntyre was lying a whole lot in his interview with jimmy kimmel. Maybe he's her father. That would explain why she so forcefully tried to get those images out in the open.

and may i suggest that you DOWNLOAD the .mov file rather than trying to stream it. I'm on a DSL connection (SBC/ATT not Verizon broadband) which usually has these videos running within seconds, but this time it is taking almost three minutes to download 28.3MB. Best to have it saved locally to run and replay, rather than risk it stopping in midstream.

I have a new theory about Persephone's identity based on Rachel's latest blog post + video from Italy

I'm thinking now that "she was an employee of the foundation" could well refer to Rachel's mother and Alvar may actually be her father. The mythic parellel should either have Persephone related to a Zeus-like figure or a Hades-like figure. Alvar could be both. Alvar is like Zeus because he's the head of this huge corporation and like Hades because he's mysterious and shadowy. Zeus and Hades were brothers, so maybe even Alvar himself has a Bad Twin? Rachel doesn't have to be married to someone in the hierarchy. She may be a daughter to Alvar, instead.

I think "Good Night, Mrs. Calibash" is a fond acknowelgement to Rachel's dead mother. The most common explanation of Jimmy Durante's sign-off is that it was a referennce to his dead 1st wife. Rachel says this right after mentioning her mother and her genes. Rachel's mother may have liked watching the Jimmy Durante show, but now she's dead too.

This would probabaly make her Mom over 40 when she had Rachel, but Rachel has to be only in her mid-twenties, so this age thing still doesn't add up. Maybe Alva would be too old to be her father. Maybe Mittlewerk or McIntyre is more likely? Maybe Alvar could be her grandfather?
