I thought on the home page ( http://dina.thenekodas.com ) wintry, spring-like; summery, but no autumnal was what lead us there. This would mean that it was there right from the start. I could be wrong though.

The most recent leaves are autumnal - another clue to look for autumnal... so I was just thinking that the sky/clouds picture may have been pointing us to something, too.

POssible Clue

Just another reference for you Laughing Laughing Laughing

On Beethoven.html
It says

Quote:
5:45 AM, and I've gotten nowhere with this. I'll try to sleep again.

Quote:
Matthew 5:45
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

interesting?

Doesnt seem to have any relevance at first, except for the

unjust

Maybe where we were supposed to look originally to find the unjust files.
( Could be wrong, as I do not know how they were found originally )

No, at that time the Nekodas pages weren't found (nor active) yet. It is interesting though, should we do this timestamp=bible reference with other timestamps?

There haven't really been many Bible references in this ARG, as in the movie. I have tried to compile a list of relevant etymologies in this thread, some of which have Biblical significance, but as for the main clues, they are mostly literary references.

Now, if someone wanted to take the time to compile a list of literary references, I'd be all over it.

Not all translations use the word 'unjust' there. For example, in the NIV the language has been amended to:

Quote:
...that you may be son of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and send rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Honey, please be careful.

I trust in your instincts, though. It's one of the things I adore the most about you. You get people - it's as if you have some innate ability to separate the meat from the gristle when it comes to personalities.

I think that's part of what makes your trips so hard right now. I wish you could just sit with me, quietly, in our living room, and you could tell me why these nights plague me so.

Mmm, tell me all about the movie when you call. If you must communicate with this Todd guy, please, do stay in public areas. I find that I am really intrigued - the sleep-deprived brain in my head feels like an outsider. It's some fantastic story, some movie-of-the-week, but it's happening to us.

Anyway, love you, baby.

OK, this is getting weird
Alright, so I'm sitting here this morning, and someone knocks on the door. I open it and it's that guy Todd Rogan, again! I have no idea how he knew I was back in town, let alone what room I was in!

I told him I didn't really appreciate him stalking me, to which he apologized profusely. He just kept staring at me and asking me questions. Questions about where I lived, where I work, my family, etc. etc. At first, I didn't want to give him any information about me, but then I figured if I did, he would FINALLY realize I'm not who he thinks I am and leave me alone.

But the more questions I answered, the more agitated he became. I tried to ask him what exactly was going on, but he was very evasive, saying something about this being so big, and I would just think he was nuts if he told me, that I'd have to 'see some things for myself.'

I asked him what that meant, and he said he couldn't really say, but if I wanted to get to the bottom of things that I might try stopping by the High Flyer Bar down on the lakefront.

He softened a little then, looked me in the eye and told me that regardless, it was really really good to see me again. Then he left.

So how totally whacked is this? I mean, this just happened, and I'm all shaken up. I almost called the front desk to chew them out for releasing my room number to someone, but something about the guy, his sincerity I think, made me decide not to. Plus, I just keep having the nagging feeling that I do know this guy, somehow, although I have no idea how.

Anyway, I get to look forward to a boring weekend with nothing to do, and trying not to let this thing bug me. I just may stop by that bar he mentioned tonight just to check it out. Who knows, maybe something there will let me put this whole thing to rest. At the very least, I can drown myself in Pyramids, heh. I wish it was warmer, or I'd rent a sailboat and relax. Maybe I'll go see a flick.

Ahh, matinees. Just like college.

Schedule Change
Grrr. Well so much for seeing ya tomorrow. My afternoon meeting was going long and got interrupted by some technical glitch, so we were forced to quit for the day before we were done.

Soooooo, that means we're back together on Monday to finish what we should have been finished with tonight. I pushed for a Saturday meet time, but no go. So, rather than fly home, spend the night and fly right back, it just makes more sense for me to stick around through the weekend. At least they've put me up at the IC again, so I can't complain.

I hate Halloween.

Don't worry!
There used to be this online journal I'd read where the guy would hide all sorts of stuff in his comment codes. He was kind of a punk, anyhow, but I loved pulling up that source code and seeing some sort of diplomatically-veiled comment about his job, and the commented smack. Also coming under his knife were former girlfriends, relatives, and the guy at the bus stop who always pissed him off. It seemed like everyone knew about the comments in the source code; a best-kept secret right out in the open.

I don't have any axes to grind, in that respect, but I also know that I don't want to bother you with this stuff - I'd want for you to seek it out. I also don't want you to worry about me. I really don't.

Yet ... this is all very strange, it's true. Strange and beguiling and frustrating and damned annoying. It's like someone is pushing on the walls of this house, trying to get in, to get into my head. It's not really someone else, though. It's me. Something's been missing for ages, and I've just now noticed. It's as if someone's moved the furniture around, and I like the arrangement, but suddenly I realize: that chair is gone. This painting has a different frame.

I feel a pining such that I haven't felt since I was a teenager, and it was natural to pine over everything, even Simon LeBon and Morten Harket.

Keep warm, my love. I miss you. And, I am very glad you're writing to me. You are always right here - but tangibles, even semi-tangibles, like text, they help. Ah, melodramatic me.

OK, it's official. I'm freezing my ass off here, or at least my face!

Oh, I've figured out some of your little puzzles. You're getting so.......creative! :)
Seriously, I hope you get some relief soon. I'm getting a little worried about you, babe.

More chalk dust coalescing. 'Scuse the over-drawn metaphor, again. It's on the brain, and this is -my- dream depository anyway, so there.
This one's simple.

Ethan and I are sitting in a sunroom, somewhere where the winters are thin and sweetly biting. The plants are a brilliant green; there are cups of coffee steaming as they sit on the table. This is the kind of home I never thought I'd live in: perfect, suburban, linen napkins for breakfast, honestly! Oh, and it's the kind of linen that's flowing and voluminous and pressed neatly so that it can be folded into triangles or swans or calla lilies or what-have-you. Everything's tasteful and understated and not cluttered at all, so I'm thinking I must be a guest in someone else's home. Ha!

There's a tortoise walking across the table, slowly, shell dulled and eyes looking mean in that turtle sort of way. Turtles have that sort of intensity, I think. That singular will of purpose is enclosed inside that hard shell. They'd carry the universe if they could, and I bet they do. This one's shell is brilliant in the grouted areas - a caramel amber to offset the muddy grey of the plates.

That's pretty much the dream, right there, this snapshot portrait. My head hurt a bit upon waking - but at least I slept the night through.

They don't seem to differentiate between a tortoise and a turtle, are they dumb or sneaky? Confused

Calla-lillies, also known as water arum, found in the north temperate zone (which is between the artic circle and the tropic of cancer). Thats the second lilly thing I found from dina, the other being the lotus plants, which are also water lillies...hmm, perhaps something, perhaps nothing. Anyone else pick up on anything?

Dreaming about turtles means that someone is not in touch with reality and a table means there is a potential meeting with someone.

Also, the pic at tortoise.html is interesting.

The ring left on the table cloth leaves a distinct 'C' backwards.

When I looked at the picture, I immediately got the image of a clock from the coffee cup. Again, maybe just coincidence, but...

[edit] unfortunately, keeping it oriented as it is, it doesn't accurately portray any correct time... the minute hand is before 12, yet the hour hand is just barely past 5 o clock. Confused [/edit]

Well if you want connections,

Other '5's
There are 5 extra 'i's in "Pining" (missing ethan page)

other 'C''s
"Cups of Coffee" - title of the page
"coffee" title of the picture
the background colour is "#FFFFCC"
"calla lilies"
"chalk dust coalescing"
"caramel amber"
"carry the universe"

A bit thin I know, but then so were the winters Very Happy

Huh. The more Dina & Ethan updates I read, the more (and more and more) convinced I become that they are s/heismissing, Mr. and ex-Mrs. Avery, and don't know it. Evidence:

Ethan meets Todd Rogan in Seattle, near Redland, where Avery would have lived. Rogan obviously recognizes him, questions him about where he lives, then tells him that it's very big and he has to see something for himself. Also, how would Rogan have known that Ethan was in town? This guy is tracking him...so he's pretty serious. An old employee? His son? Caesar? His son, Caesar? Wink Maybe his old lawyer, whatever his name is? For Ethan's sake, let's hope it's not Walsh or someone involved with the disappearance...

Dina feels that there is something in her brain that she cannot access, something that is covered up by her mind. She describes it in interesting ways, better than I could paraphrase anyway. Also, her dreams seem reminiscent of another life...do they have "thin," "biting" winters in Seattle? I think her past memories are trying to come to the surface.

So, if this is true (and, unless the PMs are skillfully misleading us, I think it might very well be), what happened? [Edit before I even post at all - I started to outline two possibilities of what I think may have happened, and it just kept getting longer and longer as I kept remembering more angles and details that I'd forgotten to incorporate and account for. This is very complicated...so I'll hold off on the specific plot speculation for now. You should all be grateful, it was turning into a ridiculously long post, hehe. Very Happy]

btw, does anyone else find it amusing that, right after we discover Dina's secret files, Ethan blatantly mentions them? Heh. *waves at PMs*
