I swear I read through that entire thread yesterday or the day before and completely missed the eye discussion. The only thing I remember reading somewhere was that they didn't know what the reflection was...
Looks like I need more sleep

"WONGMO / JAMES"
What is meant by this - it's in the second letter in the newest batch.

I think the Wongmo/James bit is either one of us trying to trick Wongo into identifying himself as James Avery. But, the "outlaw" crack means he probably isn't Avery.

It means that someone wrote to wongo and addressed it "wongo / james".
Probably a player hoping to get old wongy to confess to being James Avery.
No doubt if it had worked, the author would have been all over the boards with the news

WONGMO / JAMES,
hI,
i NEED INFORMATION ON GETTING OUT SINCE i AM STUck..PLEASE HELP
Answer:
Wongmo James…Wongmo likes the 'outlaw' sound of that.
Wongmo assumes you are able to walk or in some other way transport yourself. Pick a sunny day, summon your strength of will, and make yourself walk through the door into the sunshine. It might be scary at first, but Wongmo guarantees once you've taken that first step the feeling of being stuck and helpless will begin to melt away like a glacier in the Pacific.

The question remains: is Wongmo's mailbag a valuable source of game-related info, or a way to keep players happy because they get quoted on an in-game website. IMO the Wongmeister hasn't given any usefull clues so far, or did I miss something? I'm refering to the mailbag specifically.
Maybe we didn't ask the right questions...

Have we gotten ANYTHING useful from Wongmo yet?
There were misleading letters, and the wallpapers that we haven't figured out yet.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Grr. Just found out that the other forum I'm on has installed an anti-leeching thingy. I used to be able to just link to my avatar on their page, but apparently not anymore.

He's been about as useful as:
...a chocolate hair dryer
...an inflatable dart board
...a solar powered torch
...an ejector seat in a helicopter
theres probably more, but its late...I'm going to my space saving vertical bed.

Well...
the guy who is obviously our friend Phillip Gairden wrote:

I've written and rewritten this letter a dozen times, each time stripping a little part
of it, a part of myself, away. I know that you always say you crave simplicity and
straightforwardness in all things. I wanted NOT to drown you in wordiness, but
instead to tell you as directly as I could, how I feel.
(You'll probably never even see this, so what should it matter?)
I've learned so much about myself in the time I've spent with you. Seeing your passion
for the world around you, your curiosity, I've myself begun spotting connections in the
little electric impulses of life, those unseen things than hold us together. I see, and FEEL,
sense, where before there was only chaos. And I have only you to thank.
I've devoted my life to debunking the improbable and explaining the unexplainable. I've
spent hours draining the mystery out of the cup of life before I hand it back, dry and
dessicated, to people who only wanted to believe in powers greater than themselves. Never
before did I appreciate how wonderful it felt to be held in the thrall of something wild,
something that couldn't be scientifically proven or analyzed to within an inch of its life.
Now that I feel that thrall, now that I'm able to put the cynicism of my younger days aside
for the purity of love, I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my days basking in that
glow. Please, dear song of my soul....share this moment with me.
Forever yours.
Answer:
Well.....Thank you for the kind words. Wongmo feels the same way about all of his students!

On that note, I said this before: I think it's important (however much important, you decide) to own up to which letter was yours. Not as bragging, but just so we can narrow it down a bit.

One thing that still stands out for me is this: In Wongmo's writings we find a poem;
Light good. +
Darkness bad. -
Dolphins good. +
Sharks bad. -
Whales good. +
Jellyfish bad. -
Love good. +
Indifference bad. -
Seeking good. +
Ignoring bad. -
Nature good. +
Man made bad.-
Creativity good.+
Corporate cookie cutter culture bad. -
Self expression good. +
Stifling the self bad. -
Feeling good. +
Numbness bad.-
Religion good. +
Religion bad. -
Laughter good+.
Sadness good too.+
Music good. +
Art good. +
Cultural ignorance bad. -
Ocean good. +
City bad. -
Reflection good.+
Ignorance bad. -
Silence good. +
.......................................( missing line?)
Affirmation good. +
....................................... (missing line?)
Self esteem good. +
Poor self image bad.-
Open minded good. +
Skeptical bad. -
Emotion good. +
Logic bad. -
Good good.+
Bad bad.-
Seems to me that following the pattern of the poem, the logical next line would be 'Negation bad'.
Why did he leave it out?
[edit] looks like 'noise bad' is also left out [/edit]
